"Hmm."
Naxus studied his hand for a moment. It seemed soft, fresh. "This body will do nicely."
The hand suddenly glowed with dark energy, and Naxus's trademark claws protruded from it. "Hello, Lord Valentine. What is your bidding?"
"Once again, I have three Generals at my side... Nothing will stop us now."
Storm let his power flow through him. In the Energy Field view, he was a plethora of evil, a medley of demonic darkness, and a crashing wave of overwhelming potential. And this was not even his true energy. His true energy was hidden deep within himself. He knew what it would cost him to unleash it, and he had no intention of doing so unless he confronted the Avatar of Light.
With each passing moment...as Richand and the others struck his army to dust, with each of their victories in the name of Light, he won. He won because he had become the Dark.
He looked forth and trudged in the direction Seth had gestured. He continued walking with the pair of them, his feet sinking into the snow with each step. Then, something happened. He stepped into the snow and his foot hit metal. He could tell it was metal from the resonation of sound from it.
He quickly waved his hand and Flames consumed the snowy ground, revealing an immense metal object buried deep within the snow. It seemed to be in the shape of a Castle.
He looked to Seth. "This is your trick, how do we get it out?"
"Its in much better shape than I imagined." Seth bent down for a closer inspection. The metal looked perfect, as if it was brand new. Then Seth touched it and found out the secret. The metal was trapped in a small barrier of ice. A quick wave of Seth's hand with a spell and Seth knew the ice would not melt.
Standing up, Seth brushed off his knees as he spoke, "I figured as much, the fortress will not be freed until we activate its core. The fact that this barrier is still here tells me it will work. Judging from where this part is, the entrance shouldn't be more then a few hundred feet in...that direction." Seth began walking with the other two following him. They reached what looked like a cliff wall, no way to continue. Seth placed his hand on the wall and spoke. "You both may want to step back."
Seth's eyes glowed as he put both hands on the wall. "I am Seth Covull, keeper of the Eternal Blade! By my divine right, open this door!"
The cliff wall vanished revealing two golden doors of immense size. A white light pierced through the middle and the doors began to open themselves. Seth turned to his friends with a smile. "Welcome, to the ancient fortress Eterna."
Storm's grin widened as he peered into Eterna. It was beautiful...layers of ancient metallic designs were everywhere...spells were written along the walls, floors, and the ceiling. It was...beautiful.
"We head into the central room, three floors below the control room. Then I activate a spell that will drop us to the core. And finally the three of us each read a specific part of a spell and, pending it works, the core will shine brightly with life." Seth turned and began walking into the entrance hall. "Would you care for a history lesson, Valentine?"
Storm smiled. He had always been a high scholar, and he never passed up an oppurtunity to learn something new. After all, knowing any single thing the enemy doesnt can be used against them.
"My people were highly advanced. We developed multiple inventions that are just now coming into the rest of the world. However my people were very sevluded, by there own choice. We feared if others learned our secrets then we would be enslaved or exterminated. To prevent our worst fear, we secluded ourselves even further. We built Eterna. By pouring all our knowledge of technology and magic together, along with our power given to us by the Eternals our gods, we created an indestructable city with a near ever-lasting power source. But still my people worried. Finally they did the act that eventually killed most of us off, we took Eterna to the skies."
The three of them began walking through a large room, filled with artistic masterpieces. Towering statues of majestic people. Elegant paintings of historical times. Seth stepped forward to one in particular. A man with a black beard and a long silver robe was levitaing four spheres infront of a man on his knee's. A inscription below read, The decent of Magic among mortals.
"By taking to the skies, my people condemmed themselves. All our crops were on the surface and we had no way to land. Soon the cities food supply ran out. We began to starve, but being immortal we could not die. Some began to curse the Eternals and stopped the immortal ritual. They quickly died once their time was up. this continued for centudies until only two remained. Myself, and my brother. We used the last of our strength to cast a spell which forced Eterna to the ground. When we left this place we began eating whatever we could. My brother was captured by bandits by some mage and soon his time for the ritual passed. He died infront of my eyes as I came to rescue him. I slaughtered the bandits and left. I haven't been here since."
Seth was quiet with a somber look on his face. "Valentine, I onky suggested this place to help you rule. But we should get moving, I don't want to be here longer than we must. I hate this city."
Storm's face was grim, but fascinated by the wonders of the city. Because of his being already dead, he could show no remorse for Seth. He only gazed at the ancient cities architectural design. It was simply ingenius. They soon reached the control room. Valentine sat in one of the piloting chairs and ran his fingers over the controls. They were somehow familiar to him. He did not understand why, but he felt as though he had been here before.
"Seth... I know this place... Somehow I know this place... I cannot point out how or why... But I have been here before... I can sense it."
The entire city was a plethoratic veil of Dark Energy. Valentine barely had to look around to feel the remnant energy of those who had died around him. He could even visualize their bodies, where they had made their last stand against fate. But they had known it then... It was inevitable.
Storm looked around and could feel the power pulsating throughout the room. His very presence was familiar to the room as well. It seemed to be responding to him. He still did not understand, but he had a strong feeling it would all become clear soon.
He turned to Seth. "Ok Covull, we have arrived in the control room, now how do we get to the Core?"
Seth spoke an incantation and suddenly the floor began to fall. It was at a steady pace so they were all safe. Eventually it stopped and before them was what looked like a miniature sun. it was orange and yellow with occasional bursts of fiery energy. There were three runes around it each with a smal line of runes in front of it. "Step onto one of the large runes then speak the incantation. If the core still has enough power dorment inside it, then it will burst into flames and Eterna shall move once more Valentine."
Seth stepped onto the first rune and held his hands up. "By Eternal might, this world was forged. By their mighty strength, we ask for your power."
Storm understood Seth, but felt an overwhelming power controlling his movements. He stepped up onto the rune, and spoke the incantation, but the sound that came from his mouth was not english. Strange, ancient sounds of a forgotten language hissed from his mouth as if he knew it fluently.
"Per Vires Of Eternus , Universum Venit Futurus. Commodo Nos Vestri Vox Iterum Evinco Es Universitas!"
Eterna's core shuddered at the incantation and began to activate. Only Naxus' incantation would complete the ritual.
Ooc: the bold is Latin. It means "By the Might of the Eternals, the Universe came to be. Lend us your power once more to Conquer this World!" Pretty badass.
Naxus stepped up onto the third rune and cupped his hands together. "Chaos is eternal. Let this power take form once more and purge the world."
Naxus placed his own special touch to the core, a dark purple symbol that pulsed like a heartbeat. The mark of chaos would ensure that the fortress would remain under Storm's control.
