The diversity of coastal areas is pretty amazing.

In that top pic, you can see a jetty in the middle - that's actually the opening for the intracoastal waterway - that beach in the background (middle/left) is on the OTHER side - to get to it you have to drive like 15 miles all the way around (even though it's just 2 miles directly south).

The intracoastal comes back around a couple of blocks behind us, so were on like an island/peninsula.

In fact...

...here's a Google map of the area! The green arrow is where we were and the direction we were facing (you can see the less than direct drive across the two bridges):

We have a high concentration of cocina in our area and depending on the weather, it shifts from like 80% sand back to like 50% cocina/sand mix.

Across the intracoastal and the other direction it's more regular sand.

It's actually very beautiful!

This is just a few miles south in St. Augustine Beach proper, and you can see how the beach changes (it's like 100 yards of beach area from dunes to the water!):

Quite the drive from my aunts at New Smyrna beach then, DT.

We're about an hour and a change from New Smyrna! That's where the Wifey's© family vacationed for years (still do) and where she first got introduced to Florida! (and why she decided to look for work down here 10+ years ago, and indirectly how we met :) )

Do you know where Seawoods is located? My uncle just bought a home there (it's along the main drag near all the condos)!

Get... The... Hell... Outta.... Here!!

That's amazing!

Yes, they're on Sea Mist Dr. (Saxon runs parallel to South Atl on the back side). My Uncle and Aunt [in-law] bought a house there, and my Mom and Dad [also in-law] have stayed there for like 25+ years every summer.

Here's the beach across the street (using the main public access right from the main entrance) and the bigger pool in the front!

Wow, what a small world!

(That's the wife in #1 on a body board, and me in the pool in #2 :) )

Hahah woah!

My aunt lives on the second floor facing the sea and I have another aunt who owns one downstairs, but it's a holiday home. Here's baby Rach (18 months I think) in the pool there!
