Official 'I got a Wii' thread

Managed to score one at Gamestop today. Went to the closest Gamestop, they said they had 3 but sold them. So I came back home, and called the Gamestop across town. The lady said she had one left, but someone else was coming after it, but that if I could get there first it was first come first serve. I flew over there going almost 60 mph in 40 mph streets. Got there and the lady behind the counter said she still had one left. I snatched it up in bliss. Now I've just gotta get it set up for internet.

congratulations! another mii in the wii family! it was your lucky day!:D

It sure was. The only thing that disappointed me, was the online functionality. You have to use WIFI at this point. If you're like me, and you juse have a cable modem wired to your pc, with another spare ethernet card, you're screwed. You've got to buy a wireless router, or the nintendo wifi usb card. You can't just wire your Wii up. Which isn't a huge deal or anything, it's just kind of a little hassle I didn't know about beforehand. I still would've bought the wii either way, this thing is amazing.

i got a wii :D

it was like 9:45-10:00 am today and i just randomly called Target to ask if a new shipment had arrived. to my surprise, they said yes! i flew(not really) to the target to find about 10 or 15 wii's in stock  .. the new shipment had arrived 5 or 10 minutes before i had called. So, i quickly snagged it coupled with legend of zelda: twilight princess. 2 customers behind me were happy to see it in stock as well.

i got mine a little after 2PM. it didn't seem like there was anyone around me who was also searching for a wii though. i let my brother play it, and now he wants one too :D

Hey everyone

Initially I was going to wait for the Wii till Zelda came out on VC but about two days ago I decided I didnt need any of my old systems [Gamecube, Ps2, Ps1, Dreamcast] so I went to trade them in, turned out I had some old hard to find dreamcast games so a guy bought them off of me right there so I got about 400% more than I would have in the trade in haha..so in total they said I had 260 from trade ins, and said that had one Wii left, so I bought it

Greatest decision in my life xD
while I have no games besides Sports [obviously] I get free rentals since my sister works at a hollywood video..which is a nice perk haha

My friends are bowing down to me, since I literally got the last Wii in our whole area haha

Anyways, now I can relive my childhood playing NES,SNES and N64..if they ever release the games I played on VC lol

The Final Wii

I rocked into the Hobart MYER store yesterday and bought my Wii, was the very last one they had :)

Apparently there aren't too many still in stock around Tassie.

Very happy with it, Been playing Wii Sports non-stop :)

I think this story is positively brilliant dude. I actually laughed when I read it. I mean, to defy the law just to get a game console shows that you are dedicated. Plus, I'd just love to do that myself, racing against the clock to get a Wii. Sounds like an action movie.

I got mine from a guy I know from another message board. He had his pre-ordered from Amazon.com but it turns out he didn't want it, so when he received it, he shipped it right out to me. Cost + shipping too. He's in the US and I'm in Canada, so after the conversion and shipping, I paid about 10 over retail for my Wii! I can live with that :)

My mom caved in and bought one from eBay. Quite a bit over retail, but I still think it was worth it.

It should be here in 2 days, and I bought Excite Truck! Yay.

It was a heart pounding experience for sure. I've never pushed my truck that hard down city streets. I'm surprised I didn't get pulled over. Funny thing is, I could've driven slower and still made it. What the woman neglected to tell me was that the other guy that called for the Wii, wasn't going to be there for 30 mins. I could've driven normal and been there in no more than 15. I agree though, I showed my dedication, through and through. I'm still wishing the thing had a way I could get it internet ready right now though lol.

Scored one at Target day after Christmas. Had to go to three stores, the same Target and two Best Buys, to find a copy of Rayman Raving Rabbids.
