Official 'I got a Wii' thread

I had the chance to pre-order my Wii @ Toys R Us, but I didn't!!! I feel soo stupid to this day. :mad2: :mad2:

Now, after I saw my friend's Wii, I'm ready to camp out for it! LOL, as soon as I can find out when a store's gonna get another shipment...

Got 3 Wiis and extra controllers!!!

So me and my husband are both gamers. We waited on launch day inside a WalMart for the 360. We didn't go out for the Wii on launch because we weren't overly sure how well the actual controls would be implemented. After reading the raving reviews of the system and Zelda, we had to get one. My mom also had to get one for two of her grandkids and my sister also had to get one for her daughted.

So the pressure was on. We needed 3 Wiis. We started looking about three weeks before Christmas randomly. You know, checking every store any time we passed by them. My sister happened to get a tip from a stocker at Target that a shipment of Wiis would be sold first thing on Sunday, Dec 19th. This little tip was confirmed by this lovely message board and by another stocker.

On the night of the 18th we prepared our goody bags for the night. We weren't hoping or planning on spending the night, but my husband insisted on riding down our popular street around midnight. We originally planned on not going out though til around 4:30-5:00 for the 8:00 opening at Target. To our unpleasant surprise though, lines had already formed at our Best Buy, Target, and Circuit City. We took our spot in line at Target as number 8,9, and 10 out of 12 available Wiis. Target was nice enough to post a sign on the door about the number available and a manager even came out to confirm. By this time, Best Buy already looked like they had a long line (quantity available: 15), and Circuit City has two guys in line who didn't wait at Target because they wanted to be first (quantity available: 12). No one else showed up until around 4 in the morning. By 4:30 the line was filled at all three stores. By 6, 6:30, crowds of 30-40 people were lining up despite the signs on the door. They thought the signs were lying....turns out they weren't. All 3 of us received our lovely Wii vouchers at 7:30. Our only problem was that Target did not receive any remotes or nunchucks.

On Thur, Dec 21, my husband and I took off to Best Buy to buy a new wireless router (D-Link sucks, Buffalo rocks). We checked for controllers but they only had nunchucks of course. I asked a nearby stocker if they happened to have any Wii controllers that just came in. They actually did!!! They were sitting in a nearby box just waiting to be stocked. They only had 8 available, we bought 3, one for each Wii set.

Because of Christmas, everyone got games. We got Zelda and Rayman. Grandkids got Excite, Super Monkey, and Red Steel. Niece got Elebits. We have plenty of games to go around.

My wife just called....she stoped by gamestop...she has befriended the girl that worked there over the last few days...she got there and there was a line of 4 people...the girl told each of them that they had no wii's//then she winked at my wife!!!

My wife waited around and when the others left she went to the back and got a wii for my wife..or wiiife..!!lol
She had two and shewed away 4 other customers to make sure we got one..this rocks!!!!
If anyone lives in Lakecharles or Sulphur, louisiana...gamestop has one more..

So yeah I went to Target with my friend and I found a Wii. I was so lucky. No Wiimotes available though.

I'm very excited. I was like a raving maniac in the store. Jumping up and down.
 
got mine yesterday... just walked in to a target and got it. was the first one to get one. they had 12 in store.
 
Wii Miracle

I got my Wii for christams a few days ago. I kind of knew all along because on the box it said "to: the boys, from: Santa and the Miracle Man." It was fun, got to play it all day. My parents said they got it off of Ebay, they said it cost a fortune, bought it for three times its worth. I'm sure they were exaggerating a bit, but it truly was a Wii miracle...
 
My Wii story is short and sweet.

My mum preordered it from Woolworths.co.uk on October 29th. It came out on the 8th, and she received it on the 8th. She then made up a bunch of lies saying it wouldn't arrive for Christmas, but I seriously doubted her.
 
hooray, i got a wii!

so, i'm currently on vacation in las vegas, and decided that i wanted a wii. I read that many of you had been able to find wiis relatively easily lately, so i decided to have a look and see if i could grab one. I went to a mall and checked out EB Games, they said they didn't have a wii and had no clue when they were getting them in. to be honest, i wasn't surprised.

my next stop was target. when i got to target, however, i noticed there was a gamestop just a couple doors down so i said why not check there first? walked in and asked if they had any in stock and i got the same response. the guy at the counter said hopefully within the next week.

by this point, i wasn't sure that i would have any luck. i walked over to target just to check. when i got there, i was extremely surprised to see about 7 wiis just sitting in the glass case!

i managed to walk out with a wii, classic controller, zelda, and call of duty 3!
 
Im going at like 4:30 or 5:00am today to bestbuy wish me luck ! bad part is cant sleep or ill go right through 5:00am and miss my chance heard not many shipments are coming after this one
 
Managed to score one at Gamestop today. Went to the closest Gamestop, they said they had 3 but sold them. So I came back home, and called the Gamestop across town. The lady said she had one left, but someone else was coming after it, but that if I could get there first it was first come first serve. I flew over there going almost 60 mph in 40 mph streets. Got there and the lady behind the counter said she still had one left. I snatched it up in bliss. Now I've just gotta get it set up for internet.
