There is much more to the story (don't want to go into the trials and misses), but my cousin needed to sell his because his rent is due and his electricity was going to get shut off this month.

So I helped him out and bought his Wii off of him.

Just got mine on sunday after camping out at an EB Games in Roseville (about 20 minutes north east from Sacramento, CA) at 12 the night before ;), was quite fun meeting a bunch of other gaming peers and spending the entire time with our portable gaming systems and movies and the occasional online fad reference and gaming jokes lol. Other peeps showed up around 4am and were lucky to get them too hehe, some parents and even some of them gamers as well, very awesome xD. Purchased an extra wii-mote and nunchuck so i'd have two sets and owned a bunch of friends at the boxing and other wii sports lol, got zelda and splinter cell on top of that.

Santa comes through

Wow, do I ever believe in Santa.

I didn't want to go the camp out route and waited until last Sunday to make a small effort to get a Wii. After testing 5-6 places last Sunday am I got as close as tenth in line at EB Games, but they only got 3 systems.

So, I began preparing my 8 year old son for the disappointment - "they didn't make enough for all the people yet, etc."

His reply was classic - "Don't worry, Santa will take care of it."

My answer was that the Nintendo was so special that the elves had not yet learned to make them. He was as confident as ever. "ELVES CAN MAKE ANYTHING, THATS WHY THEY'RE ELVES."

Great, now I'm a big schmuck.

So, I travel to Detroit for business this week (I live in Nashville, TN). During a break in my travels I head into a Walmart to grab a bite at the Subway in the store, and think, "oh well, I might as well check."

I head back to the electronics section and wander to the Nintendo cases. I see a few Wii boxes sitting there and I stand confused for a few moments, and ask the associate who is staring at me if these are available. "Yep, they just came in two minutes ago." (they got five which were gone in 15 min)

I snatch up one and call my son that night. "Hurry, I said go to the TV and turn it to channel 10." He hustles, tunes in, and after he is there, I say, "oh man, you just missed it...they had an interview with Santa, and he confirmed what I told you yesterday. The elves don't know how to make the Wiis. BUT...he also also said that they just flew some elves, on some extra reindeer, to the Nintendo headquarters in Japan to learn as much as possible about Wiis. There's a chance that they may be able to make a few Wiis in time for Christmas. I hope we are lucky."

"See Dad, I told you, Santa would take care of it." Never again will I doubt Santa
