Official Graphics Comments & Criticism

Wiired, the 1st sig is amazing. The 2nd one is better than the 3rd. I do like the color idea and the different texture, but it's a little too strong. If you worked on the 3rd one it definitely has the potential to be better than #2. (Y)

Wiired, or "Mike", I like the first one but I don't like the chinese woman's face in the background, but as Byuakuya said, I like how it started out with the line going through the middle, but I don't like the face, it ruins the "rock-star look".

Byuakuya, I love your sigs the most. They're so clear and that girl you always use looks so good in it. Whats her name? She's the girl from Heroes.
Thanks for the compliments. Her name is Hayden Panettiere. :)

Thanks Sparx :)

Thankyou, that's what I was kinda going for :) then the guy I was collabing with went out on a tangent so I just stuck with it aha.
I think you should just pretend that such a collaboration did not exist.

Don't we all? P: I may make a sig within the month, if y'all get lucky.

I WANT YOUR OPINION!

do you guys touch up often after you flatten? is it bad practice?
i try to flatten layers that i know i'll never edit again, and try to keep the working file unflat, yet no major touch-ups on the final image...

that way if i need a small edit on a layer i don't lose my touchups... is this too anal-retentive since i currently rarely ever go back to an image once it's complete?

i spend a lot of time keeping the working file ideal for editing in the future and think i'm spending too much time on keeping the working file organized

I save two files. One JPEG and one Photoshop file
Easier for me to go back and redo them

Thanks fellas :)
Byuakuya... Tyler... make some tags fellas :p
(note: I understand ya busy-ness)
I am planning on making one today. I have all of the necessary materials, so I should be done by the end of the day. :)

NO NO guys! i leave the PSD/XCF file (but may flatten a couple layers like when i reconstruct a missing hand)

i leave it unflat... but what my question is 2 part:
  • do you guys spend much time organizing your PSD? (i.e. naming layers, flattening some small layers)
  • do you sometimes touch up the JPG
.

I never touch the files after they have been converted to JPEG or PNG. It is much better to touch up the original PSD files instead.
I don't actually name any of my layers, but it is good practice to do so, just in case you decide to return to the PSD file at a later date. :)

Here's my current sig I'm working on.

I don't understand why you flatten :S it's not needed.. but if it helps you out then sure :p

One of my sigs was made into a collab (with Darkrai (<3) on PR) and now looks like this:

hawtsauce.

Love it, man. I'm not that great with photo manips, but yours turned out great. The original stock feels all empty and dull compared to this, now it has more depth and feeling to it. :)

1. Sometimes I do, if I find it necessary or helpful for me.

2. No, I just go back to the PSD and do some more touch ups and then export my new result as a .PNG image.

Loving your new set, bro. Pink's a good color, looking at it makes me want to listen to some J-Pop.
