Cough Cough.

@Gikoku : Nice smudging, but the style is whored. Though I feel you've executed it quite well, I agree that the render doesn't blend very well with the background (not due to your blending, simply 'cause of what the render is.

@Smurf : Looks like you've made the fella LQ. Also when working with effects, give it a sense of direction, which will give flow to your work instead of having effects all over the place. Also, when adding lighting, make sure it's flowing with the render also, e.g you have the light source behind Matt Bellamy (?) and there is lighting coming to the left of his face and not the right. Also lose the text and border.

@Close : Render looks LQ. Colours are pretty monotone, lacking in contrast, and the render colours doesn't really go with the background. The lighting needs work as it feels unnatural, and doesn't flow with the whole of the render. However, you've given some nice flow with the C4D's, and the text doesn't ruin the focal (though I'd say it would be better without), but I feel it's unfinished. Nice to see you using a somewhat different style also.

@Cappin : The sig lacks in contrast. You've made the whole tag green, which doesn't look good. I don't think you've done much, just added a render, maybe a C4D in the background, a tech brush or 2, some scanlines and some text, and the overall execution is poor. You need to have effects in your sigs, otherwise it looks as though (or maybe even the case) that you've barely done anything. Learn how to work with C4D's and smudging first, these are some of the basic things you need to learn. Then it's not just about learning how to use them, it's about execution in your sigs. It's simple to just brush on a tech brush and think 'yeah that looks alright,' you have to make it look good, and be happy with your work, not just hope that others will throw out compliments.

@Aedus : Nice effects to the right, but the stock seems LQ.
Tip - Save your sigs as a .png file instead of .jpg, it makes the image look overall better.
The border would look better white (but obviously wouldn't be able to see it on this forum if so). The text is a little distracting from the focal, and I feel more work could be put into it, as you're making the original stock make it look good, rather then just what you've done.

Anyway, I've been working on a sig (potentially gonna turn into a collab on another site, though I'm tempted to finish it myself), it's still a WIP (work in progress), still got the colours and depth to work on, but just thought I'd see peoples thoughts on the effects and such.

Bosh:

Hmm, well the thought did come to mind. I'll probably give it a go when I get a chance. :)

Here's a new request I just finished:

ToonLink.png

Only part I'm not happy with is the Toon Link render, seems rather monochrome. Thoughts?

That's pretty good, just the text is out of place I think. Cant fault the rest

It wasn't meant to be anything amazing, just a play around. Unlike some here I'm not a GFX beast so don't spend hours pixel erasing... I've attempted C4Ds and fractals in the past and didn't want them in this tag. I don't expect compliments, I want to hear every flaw about it just like before when Tyler made tags I would only say what is bad.

Advice given.
Take it or leave it :)

Thanks, Wiired. Yeah, I can tell the style is whored unfortunately, I posted it over at PR, and didn't get a single comment on it. :(

About the sig: Looks pretty good, but there's alittle too much in the way, probably due to the placement of the C4D that makes it look kinda messy, ya know?.. A gradient map might help also.
