Nfl!!!!

thats irrelevant, juding from what you have said you are probably somewhat of a Packers fan, i could just as easily make the case for any team, i never made arbitrary assertions in my post i backed up my claims

yes i had noticed that, but the funny thing is, no matter how "fundamental packer offense" rodgers played it was still quite unpredictable for the cowboys defense to cover his style. there is next to no informatin about him. that being said i seriously doubt the idea of the packers offense making many adaptations to the cowboys defense, the cowboys dont play a dominating style of football they make the plays they need to in order to win the games and they have been doing that all year.

1. yea, harris is overrrated and fortunately TO isnt. we saw what happened
2. when the play man-to-man having woodson and kgb becomes irrelevant because TO will still get open
3. favre having weapons is irrelevant to the cowboys offensive productions and skill

most players in the nfl are either overrated or underrated. terry glenn is by no means overrrated, i have heard next to no talk about him what-so-ever. last year he played substantially better than TO and hes still hurt but hes already starting to run routes effectively. He is better than Crayton as well because crayton is as good as he is now because of Terry's leadership. Saying that Witten means we don't need Glenn is simply ignorant because 1. Glenn is a widereciever and Witten is a TIGHT END 2. having our top wr back takes out the less skilled ones making it possible for bigger and better plays

im not sure what you mean by "what their record would suggest" the team record is indicative of the TEAM not the defense...our defense does enough to let Romo win football games. when your offense leads the league in plays of 20 yards or more and is probably the most explosive behin the patriots at the moment, you dont need a defense that doesnt giv up touchdowns ever. our defense does exactly what it needs to and the funny thing is running backs dont get better against defenses theyve played before, its quite the opposite. the defense showed it could contain the packers when they "tryed to go deep" and with a little work and ACTUALLY playing brett favre and not the backup i dont see why the defense cant have an even better day

thats true

most of your arguments are all sounding similar to what people have said, and i know your not trying to be hostile and neither am i, just because i am supporting a team i like does not make my remarks biased. i have backed up the things i have established as opposed to simply answering you with: COWBOYS RULE. regardless of how well our defense plays overall pales in comparison to the intensity by which the cowboys offense attacks. they hold the team off enough to let romo win, like i said before, and at the end of the day all that reall matters is that W
I will give you a few of your arguments, but I don't feel like making the post a mile long so I'll just leave it at that, all I know is it will be a different game the next time around, which is assuming their is a next time around this post season, because as the well known quote says, "On any given Sunday, any team has a chance to win." So assuming the NFC Championship game is between those two I still don't see either beating any of the teams that might come out of the AFC except maybe the Browns and/or Tennessee. I will definitely look forward to that game between the Packers and Cowboys, if it turns out to be that match-up.

As a side note, go Chargers, they have no shot, but hey I can hope.

fair enough, to be honest i didnt wana hav to do another long post either and i think it will either go similar as it did this time, or it will become a game won by the defense on either side of the field. cowboys know they need to step up their game and i kno kgb and woodson are going to be a threat. in regards to playing afc teams (the high caliber ones such as colts and pats) i think itll be tough but like you said, any team can win on sunday, and thats been proven with the bills game against the cowboys, the ravens game against pats and the eagles game. its a crazy game

and yeah i like chargers too some, i wanted the super bowl last year to be the chargers and saints (after wat romo did) and that wish is shot this year FO'SHO

I am almost certain the only team that can beat the Pats is the Colts, when they're healthy, even though they should've beaten them the first time with Manning down his favorite receiver. I don't have anything against the Cowboys like I used to when I was younger and was a (the word that describes someone who only likes teams that do well) and jumped right on the 9ers bandwagon. Supported them for quite a few years, then had a couple years where I didn't really care who won, just had a few teams I wouldn't like to see win. Then I moved to San Diego and sparked my interest in the team. Now if they could pull of the same nonsense they did this past weekend I think they may be able to make it past the first round of the playoffs. When it comes to the Colts or Pats the Chargers would have to play their best game of the year to even have a chance. (I know the Chargers beat the Colts already, but they should've lost that game)

So surprisingly enough the 49ers beat the Bengals last night, and on Thursday Denver got whooped on by Houston. This weekend looks to be a good weekend of football. Definitely looking forward to it, only have a little less than 3 hours until the first game is aired, which for me is either the Packers vs. Rams or Jaguars vs. Steelers depending on which one I want. Then after those games the Lions play my Chargers, hopefully Rivers will step up and not choke because we know what L.T. can do, he showed it last week in their come from behind win over Tennessee.

only one real game which has caught my attention this week

bill vs browns

who would have ever thought thats this deep into the season, that this game could have a playoff birth up for grabs.

my pick for that game is going to be the brown by a score of 27-21

tho im guessing like last year the saints were "america's" team because of the disaster over there and everyone wanted them to win, im guessing the bill have become "america's" team dues to what happened with kevin everett in week one.

BOSTON, I HATE YOU

what is going on with sports!? boston is spoiled city!

boston red sox- world series champs
boston celtics-have the big 2 {garnett, pierce, allen} and are the best team in the nba
new england revolution- MLS champs......mls is Major league soccer if you didnt know
and new england patriots-UNDEFETED

well, i really really hope that the pats dont go undefeted, boston is spoiled enough as it is

oh dolphins......

i got a feeling today is the day, the day that the dolhins win vs the baltimore ravens team, 23-12 win for them.

chargers...........meh, i dont know what happened to them this season, they were every reporters superbowl pick at the start...and they are 8-5.......i mean its good enough to win their division, but where has the LT magic gone to?

I must agree the Bills vs. Browns is a key game to the AFC wild card picture. Too bad I won't be able to see any of it. Though I am fine with getting the Steelers vs. Jaguars game, should make for a great game, even though the field conditions are supposed to be pretty gnarly again, somewhat similar to that of their 3-0 win a couple weeks ago.

If you didn't notice last week it was the LT magic that won them the game. Rivers is the reason they don't just go up and down the field on teams. If we had a quality qb and not some barely-better than back-up qb then I think we would be in a better position, and possibly fighting for the #2 spot, but by no means would they be better than the Patriots.

(As a side note)
I think you meant the Big 3 when you were talking about the Celtics. I agree they are the by far the best team in the East, with Allen on the bench they still win. I think as for the best team in the NBA the Spurs (Oh how I loathe that team, along with the Mavericks) will have something to say about that.

yup my mistake, i did mean big 3

ya, ill have to agree with you on the LT magic last week, it gave me flashback from their 14-2 seasons last year, as for our qb............meh, i would feel alot more safe in the throwing game if we still had our boy drew brees.........but the chrgers organisation really screwed him over.

remember that talk about the lions being "the turn around team of the year"................yaaaaaaaaaaaa no, i belive they are at 5 striaght losses right? or have i lost count, my pick for turn around team of the year has got to be the cleveland brows, they at the start of the season were a "free" win for every team, now they are really leaving the league wide open, their running game may not be the best, but the throwing is top notch.
and i also see a great future for their throwing game, as they have a great young qb just waiting for his time to shine........you know who im talking about

YAAAAA TEXANS, the texans are easly for me one of the most enterntaining teams to see when they play at home, their home croud is so loud, its not even funny......and that slaughtering of the denver broncos really made me happy, as it now leaves the chargers with a comfy lead in their division................i cant stress this enough........I HATE THE BRONCOS

hey.....any of you guys remember that number 1 pick? i think his name was jamarcous russel..........wow, it feels like he's already retired, i would have thought they would have given this kid alot more play time, especially no since they are really out of the playoff picture........just put him in there for gods sake, he cant make you guys look worse then you already are!

ya, i know this is a nfl thread, but since we threw in the nba.....im gonna mention it again.

im going to agree and disagree with yyou..........i mean, the record sais it all, boston is the best team, with only 2 losses and the spurs have 5.........but when you look at the overall picture, you see that the western conference is jacked up with teams like pheonix, dallas, huston, denver, los angeles, utah, golden state, and even now, new orleans....all those teams are over the 500 mark 9/15 teams in the west are over 500 and portland is only 1 game back of 500.....

now to the east, boston is "the best team" because of their record, but you see what they have to go up agains, and it really makes you think, only 4 teams are over the 500 mark, them being, detroit, toronto, orlando and washington........

in conclusion, record wise, the celtics are the best, but in talent im going to say the spurs

Yea I think the Browns and Bills are both big surprises this year and I especially like how the Bills bounced back after what they had to deal with early this season.

I do remember the #1 pick, and he is supposed to be playing this weekend, I'm not sure if he's starting, but they're going to put him in against the Colts.

Also I'm watching the NFL Today on CBS and they just mentioned that the Dolphins are essentially up for sale. No mention of a price tag, but they did say the owner was entertaining offers.

Congrats to the Dolphins for winning today.
Dolphins win 22-16.
Browns win 8-0.
Patriots win 20-10.
Packers win 33-14.
Titans win 26-17.
Buccaneers win 37-3.
Saints win 31-24.
Panthers win 13-10.
Jaguars win 29-22.

Also LT just passed Walter Payton on the Total TD list.

Yea I smiled when I saw the highlight, I'm glad they beat the lowly Ravens, worthless team if you ask me.

I cant tell you how much I agree with you, I live in New England, and I'm sick of the Boston sports fans everywhere. I cant wait to see SOMEONE beat the Pats. And I hate the Celts. And I hate the Red Sox the most of all, I'm not going to get started on how lucky they got last season.

But how bout them Eagles beating them Cowboys? :)

There's hope for the Eagles, theres hope...they are much better than all the other 6-8 teams, let me tell ya...

Yea can't say I care much either way with the Cowboys, but definitely surprised me when they lost yesterday. I am still amazed with the Chargers performance, with essentially our 3rd string RB and our back-up Volek in at QB we still put up 17 points in the second half. All this without Lorenzo Neal, Shawne Merriman, and Michael Turner getting injured in the 2nd quarter I believe. Definitely could tell the defense was entirely different without Merriman in there, no sacks, but 5 interceptions by the defense, and Cromartie got one more bringing his season total to 10 and all that with only 6 games started.
