If you are experiencing issues with getting or keeping your Wii online remove any Gamecube Memory cards that you have in the Wii. For some reason this fixed my issue with the Wii losing it's connection to the network and greatly increased our download speeds. As an FYI: I'm using a Trendnet TEW-432BRP Wireless Router and it works well with the Nintendo Wii and DS.
