Faulty Wii? Hardware issues?

Ok, I'll try the Wifi lol but does it have to be an official nintendo adapter or will a cheaper one do? :crazy:

Hahaha I know, but the lan adapter WAS an official nintendo one!! That's why I'm a bit wary lol

Plugged in Wii last night (after waiting 8 hrs in NYC cold). worked great, logged into my wireless access point and updated the firmware twice. played for a few hours. Turned the device off (went to standby, orange LED). Today, it stayed in standby mode and i could not recover from it. I turned off the power by holding down the power switch and LED went red. Hitting it again, it turned green, the screen shows absolutely nothing.

I've tried different inputs and 2 other TVs - the Wii turns on, DVD drive spins up, but the screen is completely black -

does anyone else have a similiar issue? There are no error codes reported;

/chris

the wii's processor most likely got burned.
its an issue when you have wiiconnect24 on all the time

You should always see two lights. They are built into the sensor bar. If you see no lights or one light then the sensitivity is too low for the distance you are playing from and if you see more than two then you are picking up other sources.

Wii mote stuffed

My little pointer goes everywhere, and sometimes wont stay still

also when i check the sensitivity, instead of 2 dots there are 4-7 random sized flashing dots.

Not good :mad5:

What other things could be causing the interference?

Well I'm not super up on the technology but I understand the remote is sensitive to infrared sources not so much visible light so things like candles or even things that are hot but that do not necessarily give off visible light (warm spot on the wall where the sun has been shining?)can show up as a "light dot" when checking the sensitivity. My experience is that the remotes pick up on halogen lights more than incandescent bulbs. My experience is that when the remote is picking up on more than two "lights" the cursor is VERY jumpy.

Here goes.. The blue light in my wii disk port comes on in the middle of the night every other day. It like moves from left to right and blinks. I'll turn it off (gotta get sleep) and a red light comes on. I have reasons to believe my wii is possesed. Anyone know what's going on? (or know an exorcist?)

well, I guess your only option is disconnect the power supply from the wii.

Unless you are talking about the red light to be where the blue light is
