Art thread

Your dog is so cute. You have a great talent for the placement of faces, it looks just like them, and anatomy. I really can't do it.

What type of pencil do you use?

Please don't spam us!

I find I need to draw with light pencils because of how much pressure I put onto it and how grainy the outcome will be. These are also hard lead pencils so I get stronger lines, I just need to know what's best for portrait work and shading.

I find I can just use the same pencil throughout.. As much as I should, I don't really take advance from others who tell me to use methods etc. I just like the Way I do it myself.

I suppose it comes naturally. My Great Grandfather was an artist, and My two grandmothers were btoh extremely talented. And ontop of that, My grandma who lived (The other died of cancer, it spread through out her whole body..I never had the chance to meet her) began teaching me to draw at the age of 2/3

Ah, my nan specialisises in painting, but she's a bit dodgy now because she has arthritis, I loved watching her paint when I was little. Even more so, my aunty is the best artist I have ever seen, she can do anything, I'll need to find some of her work, she should so get a career in it, but, she's an optician :/

I have had serious artist's block recently which is probably due to the lack of sleep, I'm knackered but I don't seem to be getting any sleep, tossing and turning isn't really one of my favourite tasks.

I went for a college interview today and there were group interviews of about five people, no one spoke to eachother though, except for me and someone called Joshua. We didn't get asked many personal questions, she didn't even want to see my school reports, she just looked at my artwork, and the first thing she said was;

"AAAHHH, MANGA, WE HATE MANGA." and I just thought 'damn, this is going to go badly' but she said she hadn't seen linework like it and she said I'm very capable of doing everything the course requires. She said something about having an extreme advantage over the other applicants she's seen o_O;

We had a basic english test to see if we're dyslexic or anything, got them all right.

And that was about it, kind of weird she didn't ask us many questions, and I thought it would have been longer.

...So please get some cartoony requests going so I can start drawing, because I'm really bored around here.

Ok, heres something i'm using for my higher art ( it's back to front so it looks dodgey!). And its not quite comlete, but it'll do.

Critisism plz:D

Try shading, it'll make it alot more realistic.
I also think the face of the fish is letting you down..I can;t put my finger on it, it just seems odd to me.
Perhaps it's the lips? Or try shading on top of the head.

Other than that, it's looking good!

Nah, i'm not shading it but i think i might run it over with water because its a black pen. i've added some more black to the bit under the head.

Plus the actually colour picture of it is like in blocks, very opposite colours used inbetween each section, but anyways i also done a oil pastel version in colour lol, very bad mistake!!

Well it looks good but your penmanship makes the lines fray a bit, my art teacher calls them split ends, there's a bit especially by the mouth that coould be rounded off. I don't know, I like it not shaded, I like it bold, you can make it all darker and thicker...

It is a bit ish thinker now because ive been working on it earlier but also i took it with my pphone lol so it was pretty high up to fight the whole thing in, i'll get another picture one day next week.

duno lol, that was like 2 weeks ago! Anyways am working on hats now......:smilewinkgrin:

Here is one that i made when i was 10. Just found it:

Febdaaa, you amaze me every time with your skills. What program do you use to colour?

Okay, I am starting to draw pictures of my favourite singer, Ayumi Hamasaki, she sings J-pop. It's her costumes that made me do it, they're always so amazing. My first one is called GAME, go listen to the song, it's fabulous, and I drew this because of what she was wearing on stage once. I'd love to go and see her. :'(

I used this photo as my reference. I didn't like that thing on her ass or the straps so I left 'em out.

I'm thinking of doing Bold & Delicious or Evolution next.

I'm rusty with my coloured pencils. =_- I really need a tablet.

:)
