Well, some people have in fact made alternatives. For example, AoW (I took a survey to join their clan so I know) asks in their survey "can you have a voice chatting application to talk during the game" or something like that. Pretty clever idea.

I believe that Nintendo is in production of a Wii Mike.

You plug it into the Wii, and it acts as a microphone from you to your opponent or vise versa.

I don't have a specific link on this, but it IS a rumor.

They've put so many things on the wiimote (speaker, vibration, movement capture...) they should have put a mic too, with a headphones output! That way we could connect our mic - headphones on the wiimote or just shout!!

I mean they should have put it from the beginning. It's late now for a wii-mote attachment. They have to solve this in another way.
