from what is sounds like, if you play ssbm every day like i do, i wouldn't worry about it. i myself popped it off just cause i got annoyed putting it down and up all the time.
Will Nintendo replace broken gamecube port doors???

It pops back on. if your still in the warrenty or even better if you registered on www.nintendo.com for an EXTRA 90 warrenty you will send you a new one, if not order one from the nintendo online shop for like 2 bucks.
