According to a new report on Polygon, the Wii U Miiverse social network will be coming to your PC web browser or smartphone in May, and later on to Nintendo’s 3DS handheld. The news came from Nintendo’s Miiverse producer, Kiyoshi Mizuki, during a talk that he gave at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) this past week in San Francisco. In his speech, Mizuki said that the Miiverse mobile and web browser app should be released by May. He also said that it will initially only incorporate basic Miiverse features, such as the ability to post comments, draw doodles, and engage with the Miiverse communities, but presumably more will be added to this following the app’s release. This announcement confirms what Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said back in January, when he first announced that Nintendo was planning a Miiverse smartphone app, which he said would initially be browser-based, but would eventually be app-based.
