wii shop channel connects forever

i was having the same problem and i gave djones's suggestion a try and it worked like a charm! my wireless router (a Belkin) was set to "Auto" for the Channel setting. I changed it to channel 1 and had the same problem. Gave Channel 11 a try and I'm connecting to Shop Channel without a hitch! thanks for the suggestion, djones!

Problem solved, at least in my case. After doing some more research online I read a comment (from Nintendo's site) about changing the channel on my router. I went from channel 6 to channel 11 and it works better than ever. I was able to down load bomber man and mario only went across the screen twice before the download was complete.
