Wii in Australia thread

I just read that Charles Firth (from the Chaser... Or used to be) was doing the Channel 9 coverage. I failed to notice him when I flicked over to them!

Yeah, I didn't watch much of the nine coverage. Here's a quote from ninemsn about Charles Firth:

Ninemsn said:
Charles Firth, working for Nine, caused a flurry in the tally room when he approached Liberals senator Bill Heffernan with an oversized cardboard copy of the notorious fake Muslim letter distributed in Lindsay.

Senator Heffernan became agitated with Firth, grabbed the novelty letter and made an attempt to tear it.

As a huge media pack gathered around the pair, Senator Heffernan appeared to calm down and had a brief conversation with Firth.

I watched 7. The speech at the end by Kevin Rudd, ****ing hell that was stupid, saying the same thing 5 times and taking pieces of the speech from a speech by the fruit lady (can't remember her name). And if that wasn't bad enough we had to look at his ugly cow of a wife nodding and blinking the whole time.

Rudd the Dudd won eh. What a shame. If I seen one hint of Australia going in a downwards spiral beacuse of that man, I will buy a gun and officially shoot him. Dont quote me on that though. Its 2am, my Wii is ****ing up and I am not in a good mood atm. LOL. But seriously... Gun Fund: $2.25c

Haha, in many ways Australia was already going downhill.

gpoleweski, don't make comments about his personal life (i.e. his wife). If you're going to hate him, hate him for the politics. I watched the speech, and yes, it was extremely long... But then again, how often do we get a new Prime Minister? Every eleven years, apparently.

I thought it was all very dramatic for politics. Like, John Howard moving out of Kirribillee House to a hotel that very night... I loved the drama.

It will be interesting to see if Rudd holds to his promises.

Hehe, if you think I was bad, you should've heard our friends that we had over, I was nice compared to them. Anyways, I just think that he is more of a man of words, he has visions but does he have the power to make them come true? I don't know.....?.....People are saying it's good that HE is going to be doing something about the environment....I emphasize the word HE because it may be HIM who signs the Kyoto Protocol but it will be US that have to lower our emissions, not HIM entirely.....

On a completley unrelated note, what do you think is better? PS3 or Xbox 360? Because I probably won't be getting either but it doesn't hurt to try...?

*EDIT* OMG! I just realised (and I hope me editing doesn't change it but look at the times of my last post and AndThen's post just before this, THE TIME!!!! OMG!!!) They're all **:47!!!!? And wit so much going on on the 7th of December?! I'm getting scared.

This is the most related note on the page so far
The XBOX 360 is 'better' because of the games I reckon, and teh online is pretty cool with all the demos and games you can download. But you can do that on the PS3 I guess ...

GIANT PICTURE! Not a spoiler. Just don't wanna take up room. IF this has been posted already, IDC, this is awesome!

I'd go with the 360. Cheaper AND better.

The people we had over for the election were very politically correct this time, though they weren't three years ago.

Hehe. I was looking at the PS3 more so than I was with the Xbox360, only reason in because I like the idea or motion sensing, but I think I'll just scrap the whole thing, my parents won't want me spending money like that so...meh.

If that Ghostbusters game is done right, that'll be awesome.

And if rudd doesn't succeed, then I will post nothing but I told you so. But I didn't really, so I'll just wait and see....

kevin07.

thank god he won. i can't see why anyone would want howard.

as for the speech - of course it was long. he's the new ****ing prime minister of one of the most important countries today. as for his wife... she's not ugly. you, sir, are a child.

i really want a 360 and ps2 or ps3. what have the ps3's gone down to in price?

Well, I'm ecstatic that Rudd won. Howard was retiring, AND Costello would have become PM if the Liberals one. And that's not cool. I hated how people were going on about how great Costello was. Well, the Libs on 7 were going on about it. I was really waiting for those guys to have a punch up - I swear they got close a few times. There was this really annoying Lib on the end that kept trying to have a biff with the guy that looked kind of like the thunderbird newsreader from Ten (You know, he does random weather?... Wait a minute, nobody here WOULD know him, I think he's only for the North Coast area).

Anyway, the fact is we needed a change. And yeah, Rudd's wife was nodding and smiling next to him, but so what? It's not like he could leave his wife & children at home.

Did anyone notice that Channel 7 cut off the woman running for Benneelong as soon as she mentioned a kid from Pakistan? I'm sure they just ran out of time, but yeah.

maxine mckew. yeah they did cut it off. a little bit... hmm. if you know what i mean.

you should have watched abc. i couldn't have handled all the liberal banter and hopeful speculation on those channels. abc was pretty objective if not slightly labour leaning.
