I'm finished exams!!!! Woooooo, no Uni till March next year

I finish tomorrow . I would get a 360, but there are to many games I want for the Wii coming. I hate flies to.

The Wii isn't powerful enough to handle something like Bioshock unfortunately.

i wouldnt get a 360. although the 360 has a good collection of games (really only mass effect and COD 4) it is incredibly unreliable. out of the people i know, 6 have 360s and two of those have had red rings before. although i would like to get a 360 because of the games, ps3s just seem safer to me. i dont wanna imagine seeing a red ring... then not seeing your console for a month or never! oh well, i might have all 3 one day...

Actually, I think I remember reading somewhere that g somewhere that the Wii was capable of getting up to 720p, but nintendo are gonna wait until some great games come out for the wii. Or someting like that....? It's like with the DS, the size of games was about 32MB when it first came out, then up to 64MB and then to 128MB and the graphics on those games are real good, EBA is one of them.

And Ekushi,don't mean to be rude but are you an emo? Just wondering becuase you love killing and Perfect Dark (not that there's anything wrong with that) and like people were looking at you in EB?

Also, do you have MSN? Becuase if you do, there's some stuff I can tel you about Avatar. like where you can see some of it......

if wii could get up to 720p... i still dont think it'd be powerful enough. maybe next generation wii will be up there with mc and ps hardware wise!! without comprimising fun.

But Xbox360 is 720p and and Bioshock can be played on there so.....Also, in another post from a little while ago, someone said that nintendo would not go with the trend of releasing a new console every 4-5 years.

Just because the Wii can theroetically produce a 720p resolution dosen't mean it's powerful enough to run games at a solid 60fps at that resolution. That was my understanding anyway.

As a guess they could probably 'upscale' Wii games to 720p. So theyd still theoretically be in 480p, just kinda stretched to fit the higher res. The picture would be slightly better than 480 at the same size, but it would be marginal and the framerate may suffer a bit.
I would just wait for next round of console wars, and remember that 360 and PS3 are highlighted as being able to run at 1080p. Not too many games can achieve that and keep to 30fps, let alone 60... Few years time things may change....

As a side note, I'm quite impressed witrh how long this Aussie thread has been going, its one of the most popular on the site, and I mean... compared to people living in US of A... there arent THAT many Aussies!
