dont know if this has already been posted but apparently Nintendo are making just under 40bucks a unit sold can anyone confirm this

I've done some reaserch, and...

December 15, 2006 - Nintendo has boasted that from its first moment on sale, Wii is making the company a profit - unlike the situation with Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360, which continue to lose their respective companies money, thanks to being sold under cost.

If the findings shown on Toyokeizai are to be believed, then Nintendo is making its Wii consoles at about US$158.30, or a AU$202, and selling them at a wholesale price of US$195.99, or AU$250. That appears to pave the way for quite a profit, although it doesn't include the bundled accessories.

An unknown group dissected a Wii to discover the market value of each of the system's components and concluded with the following:

• Graphics chip: US$29.60)
• CPU: US$13.00
• DRAM: US$7.80
• Optical disk drive: US$31.00
• Power supply: US$11.30
• Manufacturing cost: US$19.50
• Cost total: US$158.30
• Wholesale price: US$195.99

The final wholesale price may equal about $250 Australian dollars, but none of this factors in Nintendo's, presumably, massive Research & Development costs, its marketing, and logistical costs, such as performing a global launch and shipping systems on time.

So Nintendo is making much money from us homies from the...i dunno. I don't speak gangsta too well

The Wii is probably the most expensive console out there. Its only got 512 mb and it sells for 400. While the 360 has got like 60gig hasent it? And it sells for just a little 100 dollars more with 2 controllers and a game. The 360 is the cheapest console out there and is worth a buy.

You also have to factor in the cost of the controllers packing etc oh and btw shops get the wii for $339 so ive been told

Got one for the kids for Christmas
got the extra controller and numchuck without too much difficulty

Im going to hopefully be running it with my 100inch home theatre setup (component of course) ((the playstation 2 is already running great on it))
got to admit though after about an hr or so you start to feel a little sick due to the game being so big

hopefully there wont be any issues with the sensor and the big screen

It's a projector yes? Cos there isn't any Plasma, LCD or Rear Proj on the market that big...........

Yes there are 100inch plasmas around
i just dont have the hundred grand that you need to get one

yes it is a projector and it cost me about $3500 for the projector and the screen
you would be suprised by how clear the picture is when using the component jacks (crystal clear), using video or s video or the hdtv port the quality drops a little (my wife cant notice but i do)

the picture shows me using the projector with my laptop using the hdtv jack (or whatever it is)(thus the quality of the picture drops even further due to my digital camera skills and this picture does not show a picture generated with the component jacks) to play a helicopter flight simulator so i can practice flying my helicopters so i save some money by not crashing the real ones (rc of course) ill post a pic of one

i also plug my laptop into it and using the wireless network play texas holdem poker on the big screen, which is lots of fun
