They changed Young Link's name to Toon Link. I'm much happier with Wario rather than another Mario clone. Mewtwo's still around as a Lucario. Pichu was removed for the Pokemon Trainer and such. Ike had more popularity from being in recent localized FE games.
There will be a Smash Bros. 4. Nintendo likes making money while pleasing the audience. Hence they won't keep you waiting for more than a couple of years, methinks.
