Which character are you best with?

PEANUT BUTTER JELLY WITH A BASEBALL BAT??? [/caps]

Actually, that's false about Ness v. Lucas with their F-smashes. Ness has a more "solid" (can't find a better word) knockback, it's harder to DI out of and the knockback stays for awhile and suddenly disappears.

Lucas' bat when tippered (which is very easy to do, nothing like Marth, Wolf, etc.) the knockback is much more horizontal than Ness', and actually has slightly more knockback. Coupled that it's faster and reflects projectiles, Lucas' F-smash is much better than Ness'. For both kills and spacing.

Lucas seems better to me than Ness, simply because Lucas's attacks seem faster without losing power, yet improving usefullness.

Lucas is generally better due to more reliable killer moves, he's faster, his projectile goes farther, advanced techs, and most importantly his much better recovery. I would know, I used to sub Lucas. :p

I like Ness because his Side-Special burns the Opponent. And Lucas's just puffs a small blast of Fire.
And, Ness's Bat can Reflect Projectiles.
So...
It comes down to:
To Heal or to Reflect.

I would go for heal because if you face toon on final destination if you want to heal some health just wait for toon to throw one of three of his projectiles.

Lucas's PK Fire is more usefull than Ness's. It shoots the opponent away without the lag time Ness gets after using his. And, Lucas' bat reflects projectiles. Lucas >>>>Ness.

I still think that using it to Higher the Opponent's Damage for a stronger attack is better.
Besides you can circle the Opponent while they're still in the Vortex.

No, it is not as useful in stunning the opponent. It only does so for a short period of time, one that in which you would be unable to get off many of Ness's stronger attacks. Bottom line, Lucas gets much more priority. Lucas >>>> Ness

Using DI you can very easily get out of Ness' PK fire before he can even wind up for an F-smash. The only chance you won't get out in time is if you're below somewhere around 20% damage.

Also, before someone mentions it, Ness' PK fire isn't as good of an edgeguard as PK thunder, even with the diagonal aim in midair. Trust me, so Ness' PK fire doesn't have that advantage either.

And on that note, Ness' PK thunder is better for edgeguarding than Lucas'. Infact, with a more powerful meteor smash and more edgeguard moves, Ness is much more adept at edgeguarding than Lucas. Lucas uses raw power to KO opponents usually, however; with a weird meteor smash mixed in.

Also, I know this really doesn't relate to the conversation, but I remember constant bickerings from melee elitists about the difference between meteor smashes and spikes... it reminds me of Brawl+. Think of it as... Melee and Brawl's hypertalented offspring, which is better than the two in a whole. Just check out this link, it's epic. If you want details, just PM me.

Lol Yyy, you're so unknowledgable. Toon's projectiles can't be absorbs since they aren't energy types. They're physical (yes, including the bomb's explosion). If you try to use Ness' or Lucas' Down B to absorb them, you only get hurt. Even a beginner knows that.

You can change the way you fly when you hit you self with PK Thunder, just move the attack to a different part of your body.
