Is this just so when you create mii's you can recognize who your mii's are in a mii parade or something? Not sure what it does other than give the mii red pants. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks!

I reckon its for future Wii games, as Nintendo said something about Mii's popping up in your games and so I guess the favorite will be the one popping up most or something?
Did that make any sense?

i dont really remember as i havent played my wii in almost 2 months or so...
BUT, i think i remember your fav mii would be the default one to use in wii sports, and wii play (the only mii games so far)
maybe have a try with that and see

nkbswe5's answer is the best on really .So far it is to distinguish your favourite Mii's from the ones you pick up and throw around. In Wii Sports and Wii Play you pick the character you play with you aren't given one.
