OK, I figured I'd give this a shot :)

I'm drinking some righteous decaf (Newman's <something> wholebean) and writing a new Chain of Custody module for a DOJ app, and reading about a recent buildup of a L92 based 416CI motor a guy just dropped in his Z06 and checking out the surf report for the next few days (even though I won't make it to a board till Friday...).

This is from the V2N World HQ here in Vilano Beach.

Hahaha, how's that?

Being hungry and contemplating playing UT....Now being pissed of by not having my RE4 order yet:mad5:

Actually now I'm thinking about firing up Zelda tonight - we havent' played for like a week and I totally forgot what's going on. On the upside, at this rate it will last until March/April of 2008.

FINISHED!

The Five Major Religions

The five major religions, like all other religions, are all value systems that include faith in the sacred of divine. They are all created by cultures. All of them try to explain the meaning of life, or at least help answer why we exist. All of these religions have ethics and morals by which to live by. These 5 religions influence about 76% percent of the world population.
Judaism set the foundation for Islam and Christianity with its belief in a single god, or monotheism. However it is not universalizing like Islam and Christianity, it is considered an ethnic religion. Judaism’s most important scripture is the Torah, which includes the first five books of the Old Testament. Like most religions it includes a moral code, called the 10 commandments. The patriarch of Judaism was Jacob. Like many religions it has been split in to branches, an Orthodox Judaism, and a Reform Judaism.
Christianity is also monotheistic and its holy scripture includes the Old Testament, also added to this is the New Testament; together they make up the bible. Also like Judaism, Christianity has split into branches; the two main ones are Catholic and Protestant. Unlike Judaism, Christianity claims applicability to all humans (universalizing) and believes that Jesus, a Jewish preacher, was the son of god. Christianity is the most widespread of the five major religions, including a third of the world population.
Islam is the youngest of the major religions and includes 1 fifth of the population. It is monotheistic and universalizing like Christianity. Its holy book is the Koran and they believe Muhammad is the most recent prophet of god. They believe in a code called the five pillars of Islam, which requires them to pray five times a day and give charity, among other things. Like Christianity and Islam Islam is split into two major branches, Shiites and Sunnis. The Sunnis believe decedents of Muhammad should lead the religious community, while the Shiites do not.
Hinduism is the oldest of the major religions dating back over 4,000 years. It believes in a single god called Brahma, yet this god appears in many different ways, such as Shiva, the destroyer and Vishnu the creator. It also includes a complex set of values and traditions, such as the caste system. It is split into thousands of groups called jati. It has no common creed or single doctrine. Its main beliefs include reincarnation, ahimsa, and Dharma. Hindus believe their karma, or conduct in previous lives, determined their position in the caste system. Hinduism is an ethnic religion rather than universalizing.
Buddhism is the smallest of the major religions only accounting for 6% of the population. It was founded by Siddhartha Gautama who was a prince who became a Buddha, or “enlightened one.” Buddhism is a universalizing face that does not really believe in a god, but that desire is the cause of all suffering. There are 3 branches of Buddhism including Theravada, Mahayana, and vajrayana. Like Hinduism, Buddhism includes the beliefs of karma and reincarnation, with the addition of the state of Nirvana when the reincarnation cycle is complete.
All of the five major religions are either ethnic or universalizing. All of them are split into various branches based on interpretation of texts or inferred beliefs. None of these five religions are technically polytheistic. These five major religions are very unique but have some similar principals that bind people together. They are the most practices beliefs of the current age.
