Mario is the Sheik of floaties, the early metagame favors him quite heavily, but he'll lose luster eventually... I hope.

All the 'new' characters outclass the old top tiers.

Lucas for new falco, 'cept his recovery is significantly better, and his spike hits half a dozen times instead of once, plus he has the fox up smash that combos out of it... only down side to him is the lasers are way better than freeze, but even freeze is a little obnoxious at times.

Mario is the character with flexible edge guarding, and a retarded grab game, making him dominate until more complex tricks are found, and perfected.

I'm kind of thinking Squirtle might be the new fox, (the option coverage and pressure, the general speed has that same... almost omnipresent feel as a truly good fox,) but it's too early to say.
