You should have asked this in the Q&A thread, but shinys are rare to get in the game and they come up like any other pokemon that u find in the grass. however, the chance of seing a shiny is a few thousand to 1, so all the people who have tons of shinys have hacked them basically

yep thats true i have over 90 shinys
but i clone no repeats
but i have so many cuz of online trading
and cloning =PP
but im looking for a metagross
lv 100 ev trained i have many pokes up for trade =pp

But who honestly goes out there way to collect a plethora of 90+ different shinies. And a shiny doesn't have to be legit, it just has to look legit to pass as okay.

lots of people actually. because most shinies look cool. and so, people want them. collecting 90+ just means they're closer to acheiving the goal than most people
