Pokemon Fire Red Unevolved/Scrambled/Moveset Challenge, update #1
I started with Bulbasaur and caught a Pidgey as soon as possible and named it Phoenix. It has a bold nature and apparently bad IV's, because I couldn't win against the Pidgeys and Rattatas on the same level. I spend some time searching for level 2 Pokemon and then trained it to level 12, so that I can take on Douche for the first time. I won with only a few hp left and then traveled through the Viridian Forest. After that I trained Phoenix to level 19 before I even thought about fighting Brock (thanks for the speed key on emulators). I used Whirlwind so I can start with fighting Onyx. I used Sand Attack a few times and then just attacked with Quick Attack. I did the same with Geodude and managed to win by using 2 potions. (took a while even with speed key)

Phoenix lvl19 with bold nature and Keen Eye
-Gust (sadly no special attack :()
-Quick Attack
-Sand Attack
-Whirlwind

B2-M Challenge Update

Sure as ****'s been awhile since my last update, ain't it? Started things off grindin' for Red Shards in that one cave below Driftveil. After 20 minutes of Repel spammin', I realized Jolteon already knew Signal Beam... plenty'a time wasted right off the bat. A grand start. ._.;

After that irksome mistake, I traveled off t' Mistralton and trained *Aron somethin' fierce along the way. T'was a *Lairon by the time I got outta Chargestone and became a fully evolved shiny Aggron after pummelin' a few Gym trainers along the way t' Skyla. Thanks to STAB Rock Slide, even her Swanna couldn't stand up to this beast. I did require a single switch since Rock Slide; much to my surprise; didn't OHKO, but t'was an easy battle regardless. Jet Badge get!

Derped on through the routes past Mistralton and onwards t' Lentimas and Reversal Mountain. I was strugglin' a tad since my Eeveelutions were underleveled after level grindin' *Aggron, but it wasn't nothin' a few healin' items wouldn't fix. Saved in the middle'a Reversal Mountain t' fall asleep. The team is as follows.

When I booted up the game t' check my team data 'n such, a trainer immediately spotted me lol.

Glaceon @ Wide Lens, Lv. 38
Modest

Mirror Coat
Icy Wind

Jolteon @ Magnet, Lv. 38

Welcome back amigo, been wonderin' where ya ran off too. And on that note, welcome t' the Hall of Fame.

Good luck with that Nuzlocke.

... ... ... No. Bulbapedia didn't list that. Well, now I know t' use Serebii's Item Dex. Thanks for the tip bro.

Blondie's Platinum Nuzlocke - UPDATE 1

Aha new challenge! Nothing like a good old fashioned Nuzlocke. Bring it on B-)

I was wondering however if you can add other rules, as in "if you fail to catch a pokemon, you are not allowed to catch that pokemon on any other route", or is it just what it says on the tin on the rules page?

Anyway, let us begin!
-Pick female Character, Call her Blondie.
-Mash the A button, end up picking Chimchar... WHEN I WANTED PIPLUP. God damnit, restart.
-Right, eventually I get back to picking a pokemon and I choose Piplup. Infernape is too fragile for this dangerous challenge, and Empoleon has just about the right amount of bulk and attack to be my perfect nuzlocke partner (haha screw you turtwig)
- Well seeing as the rules don't really kick in till I get pokeballs, I train the piplup to Lvl 10 before entering Sandgem.
- Visit Prof. Rowan, acquire pokedex and nickname the piplup Pip.
- I go buy some potions and pokeballs and head back to the first route. Who is the first pokemon gonna be! Oh ... a Bidoof... ah well I guess I have to catch it! Oh dear, what a disaster, I "accidentally" killed it when I was trying to weaken the poor thing! Well, I guess I wont be able to catch it, how unfortunate :|
- Go to Lake Verity, catch a Starly! Now that's more like it :D Name him Herbert. It's nature isn't too shabby (Careful). Staraptor can really pack a punch, but tends to die easily, so I'll have to watch out.
-I train Herbert some before moving on to the next route. Once I finish, I meet Ethan at 202, and he gives me more pokeballs. What pokemon will show up this time!? Oh its another Starly. What about now? A Shinx! Excellent! I love them :3 Also, intimidate will come in handy. I name her Estella. 50 points to the person who can tell me what book I am getting all my pokemon nicknames from.
-I train HER now to level 10, then mosey around Jubilife and complete whatever plot that I have to do there. I train Estella in the route north of the city to level 13, so that she learns spark. AWESOME.
- Oh and it was another bidoof who was the first pokemon to show in that route. If I am doing the rule where I cant catch a bidoof again since i failed to on the first route, then Budew is the next in line but I didn't catch that either. I am only gonna catch something if i think it will be able to hack the nuzlocke life. Plus I dont want my whole team to consist of the pokemon only found on the first routes. That is predictable and boring. I'll let y'all know when I catch a pokemon, but if not just assume I killed the first one I came across in each area for exp, and forfeited my pokemon catch for that route.
-Moving onwards. I battle Barry with ease and make my way to Oreburgh. Herbert gets to level 14 by the time I reach the cave and evolves into Staravia! Woop woop, more intimidate.
-By the time I have explored the mines, Pip is level 16 and he evolves into Prinplup. Hmm? What is that smell? It smells like GYM TIME.
- Roark is decimated by my penguin. FIRST BADGE WAHEY.
- Acquire a bidoof HM slave.
- Back on through to Jubilife. Me and Ethan destroy the galactic grunts.
- By the time I have made it to Floaroma town, Estella is level 17, has learned bite and evolves into Luxio! Evolutions all round :D
- Deal with the galactic grunt outside the windworks, deal with more grunts in the medow, head back to the windworks and dealwith Mar- HOLD THE PHONE. Mars is actually pretty tough, that Purugly is nasty strong and almost kills Herbert! He was on red HP!! I had completely forgotten that this was a nuzlocke, and my heart stopped a little, but luckily Pip saved the day.
- Get everyone to around 20 before eterna forest. Do some good training inside with Cheryl. In the double battles, I get all the HP, plus she heals me! I got Herbert to level 23 for the upcoming gym.
- MAGIKARP MAN. *_* Estella smites the magikarp fisherman where he stands. Onwards to Eterna city!
- Why hello there second gym, nice clock theme you have going on here. Too bad it's time to DIE. Herbert is a beast. Wing attack is a boss move. TWO BADGES WOO.

The Team So Far:

Pip - Prinplup - Lvl 20
- Pound
- Metal Claw
- Bubble Beam
- Peck

Herbert - Staravia - Lvl 25
- Double Team
- Quick Attack
- Whirlwind
- Wing Attack

Estella - Luxio - Lvl 22
- Charge
- Bite
- Spark
- Tackle

-Mash the A button
You can keep the b button pressed to make the text go faster even during the intro :D Very useful when you often start new games

Pokemon Diamond No Item/Monotype Ground/Nuzlocke Challenge, Try 3 Update #2
The way to the next city was no problem and except for the rival battle there was nothing to do there yet. The rival still is an easy opponent, because he can't do anything against me (that will change later qq). On route 209 Johnson evolved and I went back to get me a Golem. After Solaceon Town I fought to gain a few levels on Onyx and missclicked twice while fighting a Psyduck and lost my Onix to stupidity (I mean I wanted to keep it interesting of course)... ... ...
There were some tough trainers on route 215, but I defeated them and only went back to heal once.
In the gym I used Derp who hardly took any damage and defeated everything in 2 hits. For Lucario I sent in Johnson, because it will survive one hit thanks to sturdy and it should take Lucario out with Magnitude... Lucario used Bone Rush

(one isn't enough)
... It barely did damage, but it really scared me for a second :D Magnitude 8 defeated it in one shot as expected

Derp (Grotl) lvl 30 with naive nature and Overgrow
-Tackle
-Curse
-Bite
-Razor Leaf

Johnson (Golem) lvl30 with hardy nature and Sturdy
-Rock Blast
-Tackle
-Magnitude
-Rock Polish

I doubt it, but can I catch 26 Unowns to get the Ruin Maniac to finish digging? (the rule says that you can only catch the first Pokemon and not use the first Pokemon)I need that in order to catch Hippopotas.

I believe ya missed this link.

Since you're not doin' an official Combined Nuzlocke, you're free t' play with whatever rules ya want. House rules or otherwise.

Estella smites the magikarp fisherman where he stands.

fheadhfhifhrfgrhnefgsrho BULLSHIT YOU ****IN HACKER GET OUT OF MY THREAD

Sturdy only works like that in gen 5. Before gen 5, it only protects you from One Hit KO moves like Sheer Cold, Guillotine, Fissure, etc. Thought you might want to know that seeing as this is a Nuzlocke and not knowing that could cost you Johnson's life.

Oh and WU UPDATE
I did this section of the challenge a while ago and was planning to write a detailed update but I don't have much [strike]motivation[/strike] time for it.
- Beat Lenora
- Beat Burgh
- I'm currently training to beat Elesa

I am a genuis. Totally thought the combined nuzlocke meant a nuzlocke with the 6 original pokemon, and no others rule. Good job brain. Completely disregard the word 'combined'. And that's what I thought I was doing. So now, just to clarify for myself, I am doing a plain nuzlocke in which the first 6 pokemon you commit to catch are the only ones you can use.

Speaking of house rules, has anyone ever done a nuzlocke in which you are only allowed one pokemon centre heal per town? That one is a toughie, but good fun!

Thanks for telling me :) That means sturdy sucks in gen 4 :/

Pokemon Diamond No Item/Monotype Ground/Nuzlocke Challenge, Try 3 Update #3

Derp evolved on my way to Pastoria City where I catch a Wooper in the Great Marsh and actually managed to catch it before it fleed and named it WoopWoop (I'm not very creative, ok???) Sadly it has Damp and not Water Absorb :/ I evolved it and trained it to lvl 29 and then entered the gym. I almost lost Derp to a Wingull (Confusion is the best thing ever...). At the leader I started with WoopWoop and switched to Johnson in hope it would lock itself into Thrash. It used Dragon Rage, which was fine by me. I used Rock Blast, but it only hit twice, so I had to switch out. I forgot, that he would heal it, but by switching out I got Gyrados to use Swagger on Derp. From there on I just one hit everything with Razorleaf and Floatzel used Swift and not Ice Fang (I remember it using Ice Fang), so everything worked perfectly. The rival fight was good, because I had WoopWoop for Monferno.

Derp (Torterra) lvl 37 with naive nature and Overgrow
-Leech Seed
-Earthquake
-Bite
-Razor Leaf

Johnson (Golem) lvl33 with hardy nature and Sturdy
-Rock Blast
-Tackle
-Earthquake
-Rock Polish

WoopWoop (Quagsire) lvl30 with careful nature and Damp
-Amnesia
-Mudshot
-Slam
-Mud Bomb
(hardly any good attacks in level up move pool :/)

I looked up the elite 4+champion and I have to say... I am scared without items :(

Pokemon Diamond No Item/Monotype Ground/Nuzlocke Challenge, Try 3 Update #4
After some story blablabla I finaly got to challenge the gym in Hearthome city. I tried to train WoopWoop by sending it out first and then defeating the Pokemon with Derp. I quickly learned that this was a bad idea, because confusion doesn't treat the player very farily. After hitting itself 3 times in a fight with the first Misdraveous trainer Derp was down to 3 HP and just didn't faint because he was dump enough to use Pain Slplitter. So I just stoped doing that and only fought with Derp. Fantina was an annoying fight. I was scared of Destiny Bond, so I used Synthesis before I finished Drifblim, to make sure it doesn't carry it. Mismagius confused Derp and it hit itself 4 times in a row (50% chance to hit itself... seems legit) I used Synthesis before defeating it. Gengar wasn't a big problem, because it was attacking with Shadow Claw (what was she thinking???) I only had to deal with a bit of confusion. Every Pokemon was a 2 hit with Bite, so I did well, even with the typical player's bad luck in Pokemon.

Derp (Torterra) lvl 40 with naive nature and Overgrow
-Synthesis
-Earthquake
-Bite
-Razor Leaf

Johnson (Golem) lvl34 with hardy nature and Sturdy
-Rock Blast
-Tackle
-Earthquake
-Rock Polish

WoopWoop (Quagsire) lvl34 with careful nature and Damp
-Amnesia
-Mudshot
-Slam
-Yawn

Don't believe so, as that's a bullshit rule. Ramps up the difficulty way too much IMO. 'Least, it does when you're doin' more than a standard fare Nuzlocke.

That means sturdy sucks in gen 4 :/

terribly so lawl
