the ~Ask Anyone Anything~ thread

As you've certainly heard me say before, "gameplay is the most important quality of a game". Whether there's truth to that or not, there certainly is truth for it in my own preferences. I enjoy all the fightin' in action-adventure games like nothin' else. As such, I especially enjoy Kingdom Hearts' combat. I've also a strange knack for blockin' out the bad qualities of a game that have nothin' to do with gameplay mechanics; poor stories and repetitiveness in particular for whatever unknown reason (ohai my love for Assassin's Creed 1).

In short, the gameplay. It's not deep or all-that challenging often enough but I still enjoy it simply because. Ah, and Yoko Shimomura too.

nao i wanna listen 2 xenoblade soundtrack even moar

Yoko's been Kingdom Hearts' lead composer since the very beginning. There's a damn-good reason why the largest VGM album (for a single game series) on my PC is dedicated to all that grandeur junk from KH. If ya ain't familiar with 'er compositions outside'a Xenoblade, here ya go.

Findin' that link, I discovered Yoko played a small part in 3 tracks from Brawl... Neat-o.

question @ evry1: Favorite video game composer?

cant... spoiler... openinggggggggg

Aye, her compositions are pretty easy t' distinguish. If I knew anythin' 'bout music, perhaps I could decipher why.

Anyone, favorite ost?

Bloody hell that's a hard question I've been asked over the years; still no truly decisive answer. However, I tend to fall back on Shadow of the Colossus as said answer. The sheer level of epic gameplay in that game is equally rivaled by the soundtrack, without a doubt.

Star Ocean 3 sure as **** gets an honorable mention since Motoi Sakuraba is awesome, the tunes are (expectedly) amazing and holy mother of 'Karp is that OST humongous.

In terms of the best overall (IMO) rather than my personal favorite, like hell I could answer that.
