I am ________
Status Indian
(Status Indian is someone who is registered with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada as an Indian, or who is entitled to be so registered, according to the terms of the Indian Act)
Non-status Indian
Inuit
Métis
Person with a disability
Visible minority
Visible minorities are defined by the Canadian Employment Equity Act as "persons, other than Aboriginals, who are non-Caucasian in race or non-white in colour."
I'm applying for employment benefits since I'm a poor student.
Can someone please tell me if I should check the box that says "I'm a visible minority"?
EDIT:
ZOMG. It brings up the biggest debate in history. WHAT CONSTITUTES "WHITE"?
Am I non-white bbz?
What exactly constitutes "white"?
About significant fraction of Iranians, Afghanis and Syrians, etc have very light skin and eye color ranging from light green to hazel. Are they white? xD
I think the term is "swarthy".I think defining it as certain nationalities would make the least amount of political correctness hassle. I.E. European - Russia.
Which is why white and black always confused me. We don't call anyone tan.
This popped into my head before. It may not be relevant for several members, I'm not sure. But:
Socks, on or off?
