Not enough Mario characters. They should remove unique characters like Falcon and Samus! Replace 'em with Bowser Jr. and Waluigi and whatever other waste of space in the bottom of the Mario barrel we find.

Well, what is "enough", really? We know Sakurai doesn't want to over represent any franchise by giving them gobs of characters. As of now, Mario has one less character under it's mushroom symbol than it did in Melee. Would it really be so bad to have one more character addition, to any of the franchises really? (The exceptions would be like, IC's, Gyromite, and G&W) I don't think so, and it's been made decently clear during Brawl's development that Sakurai doesn't think five characters is too much anyhow. We saw Pokemon, Mario, and LoZ almost have five characters each. (Mewtwo, Doc, and Toon Zelda) So while his choices back then were... meh, that's not to say that he won't choose from better ones this time around. I don't see too much barring any series back in terms of newcomer additions really. I think it's even possible Pikmin could get a second character.

I can't really disagree with Assasin's line of logic. But while it makes sense, I don't support it. Mostly because I quite want some characters in, mainly...wait, I talked about this a few posts ago. You get the idea.

Did you consider Melee Super Mario Bros?

Really, the idea of five Mario characters has been attempted to be implemented in Brawl, and actually was in Melee. To me, that says there is a chance that a fifth Mario character will at least be ATTEMPTED to be added.

The addition of more characters from previously established franchises will not affect the inclusion of new characters from Smaller franchises. I mean, it hasn't ever in the past? Why would it now? I think we'll probably get 3 or 4 smaller franchise character additions.

Long have I been lookin' for an argument t' support the possibility of Sakurai increasin' the franchise character limit back up to 5, and I'd say that one works: the forbidden seven. Characters cut due to time restraints, not franchise restrictions.

... 'Course, Sakurai's stated that they don't want t' add many characters, so I ain't really interested in any large franchise gettin' another character since said announcement. Metroid, F-Zero, Earthbound, etc. are all more deservin' of another representative than Zelda (though I still sorely want Ghirahim... ;_; ) or Mario. 'Specially the latter since spiritually, Super Mario Bros. has eight bloody characters as is.

Just remember, they we're gonna have nine! I think what Sakurai really meant in the interview where he says he doesn't wanna add a lot of Mario/LoZ characters was more about DRASTICALLY adding a bunch. Even more so, I would dare say that quote kind of rules out a lot of the "filler" Mario characters. Like, say, Daisy, and Birdo, and Waluigi. Within' the Mario series I believe we have at least two distinct characters who could fit well alongside the cast of Mario characters already playable in Smash, and they are Toad and Junior. Same goes for Tingle with the LoZ cast.

Mario, LoZ, Kirby, Pokemon, and Star Fox all IMO would be fine with another addition, despite what some people may believe.

Yeah, I agree that we should get Ridley, Goroh, Shulk, and Little Mac. But they only take up so much space on the roster.

Who are all of your FAVORITE characters? Your number one?

For me, it's probably obvious. And I can tell Neo's is probably Ghirahim.

High on my wishlist is Ghirahim quite obviously, though in terms of characters with a realistic chance of gettin' in, I ain't too sure of anyone else. Certainly wouldn't mind seein' Zoroark as I like the Poke, but if it ends up replacin' Lucario I'll ragequit hard.

Aside from what I've already listed, I'll mention some others. K. Rool would be fairly cool, as even though I'm not a particular fan of the guy (not even a Donkey Kong fan), I think he has a neat design and I would probably enjoy playing as him.

If N (likely) doesn't get in, I'd enjoy playing as Genesect, who is one of the only possible non Gen VI reps I can think of.

Phoenix Wright has that very unlikely chance, but he'd be awesome too, I gotta say. Mr. Wright > Megaman.

And as much as I really don't give a crap about Little Mac, I think the dude deserves a spot.

I think Zoroark could be awesome. Love the idea of a him using Illusion in Smash.

Fun fact: Wario, Wolf, Leaf (Fire Emblem), Johto Trainer, Dedede, and Meta Knight were all thought about when Sakurai was designing Melee's roster. Sakurai pretty much had to decide between Dedede or Young Link, Pichu, Falco, Roy, Ganondorf, and Doc. Wario was going to be the Mario clone instead of Doc. He was gonna be a heavy Mario, BUT, he decided he could do more with Wario and waited. He picked Roy over Leaf, and skipped over Meta Knight so he wouldn't "Over Represent Kirby". Johto Trainer was going to have all the starters, buuuuuuut he couldn't work the switching mechanism.
