Well, that's stupid. I suspect Sakurai was pressured into this by Ninty (what with the whole youtube debacle), but who knows... Sakurai hasn't made the best decisions for Smash Bros. in the past. coughbrawlcough

... any good fighting game usually has a solid story mode.

My friend told me about this, and I assumed it was for a dumb reason, but I didn't think it was for this dumb of a reason. I could use that same logic and say that there should be no unlockables at all, since people can post pictures of trophies and other things to the internet. I could argue against it more, but it's such obviously bad logic that there's really no point.

T'is why I think this isn't Sakurai's initiative. The logic is so bloody flawed and... well, blatantly stupid. Doesn't make any sense unless Ninty forced this on 'em.

Why would they do that? Smash has been successful with Sakurai in the lead, so why would they want to change that now?

It baffles me why these major companies make these obviously horrible decisions. I can't exactly see the staff unanimously agreeing on this, maybe some higher ups are just being stubborn asswipes. Also, 4,000th post~
