I dont really think that is fair to criticize ness/jiggly/lucas/DK and others for their final smash. I have won various tournaments with ness in melee and because he doesnt have a great final smash doesnt make him a bad player. A smash ball only appears once or twice in a game, its not like you are going to win an entire game because u got a smash ball.

I bet some newbs will be playing with link on SSBB because of his final smash.

Careful what you say, if you look at videos on other sights, you can clearly see that FS can change an entire match in a mater of moments. Aside from that, people think that ness/ jiggly/ and lucas have good FS.

Well to really use jiggly or DK's final smash to their full extent, they other players have to have been launched and trying to recover back onto the stage.

The shock waves from DK's bongos seem perfect for edge guarding. And the meteors from Lucas' and Ness's final smashes seem like they'd have the best hit probability when the opponent is airborne.

So although many consider final smashes to be noobish and/or imbalanced; I think that once the game has been out long enough most will forgo their misgivings about them; and just perfect strategies that incorporate them instead of working around them.

Ya that sounds correct. Who are you maining mushroom?

what an awsome update!....and i was thinking....will they get the saved data from the ssbm to get some extra items?

doubtful. since for many, this may be their first smash game, why give the veterans an edge?

I mean I understand where you're coming from, but Nintendo's current noob friendly policy seems like it would go against excluding the newcomers form anything, since it's trying so hard to welcome them with open arms.

I have won over 27 Gamestop Melee tournaments, and retail store tournaments...

****, this Gamestop has a plack with my name on it for Smash King.

lol.
Take a picture of it (you can delete the photo if theres a name underneath it) and i will believe you, until then i believe your full of bull shi*, just like the rest of people who say their god at the game. . .
People like you make me want to wifi battle you so i might be able to kick you so that you arent so cocky. . .

i agree with balrogs. im always itching for a challenge in melee. sure its fun beating the crud out of all my freinds. but having another person beat me or thats atleast challenging for me is what im looking for. i find it very few times. (only once) my older brother is the only person that can beat me strait up. everybody else is sorry.
im was one of the best in the tournament that i went to in orlando florida. one day i'll post up a battle i have with my brother and put it on u-tube so i can show you people how good i really am. i just gotta get my freind to teach me how to use window movie maker.

@SHION if your as good as you say you are, i hope you wave dash and do all the advanced techniques. who is the character you play with? i play with fox and i mastered everything except the continous wave dash and the reflector. i can only do that a couple times. then i mess up. i mastered every advanced technique with luigi and falco too. i strait up kill with those three characters

ness has always been my main character ( since smash bros. ) , and i knpw that he doesnt have a lot of fans but he is a very good character to play with. Characters like ness, pokemon trainer, Olimar that require strategy are not very popular among newbs. I have noticed that the majority of new players are going to use link or fax as their character. I guess its because they are easy to play with but does anyone here have another reason for the preference?

@SHAKY

FOX, FALCO, LUIGI!!!! EASY TO PLAY WITH:yikes:

I guess for noobs. you know how quick fox and falco can move. and how perfect you gotta wavedash with luigi.

ness is nice to have fun with. i play great with every character, even bowser, pichu and mewtwo. i beat allstar on very hard with those characters(worst characters i play with)

i picked fox because i like him. not cause everybody else likes him. i've been playing since i was 4 on ssb. talk to the noobs about that

That's why I will main with Olimar,Snake,PKMN Trainer, and possibly G&W.

They all require a bit of strategy to use, unlike fox/falco who are all about speed and spamming moves in perfect sequence.

(EDIT:This is an independent statement from the above mentioning of fox/falco, I in no way consider their moves or strategies glitches)V

sorry but glitches do not make you a pro. they just show that you don;t have the skills necessary to play the game as intended.

A glitch is defined as: "a usually minor malfunction"

wave dash, shfl, and the other "Advanced techniques" that exploit the game coding allowing the player to exploit the system to behave in such a way that it normally wouldn't; are considered glitches.

And in a sense using a glitch to best another player in a game is cheating is it not?

Doesn't matter how well you perfect your glitches, in the end they still are glitches and should not be taken seriously in a real match.
