I told everyone that Ness was not gone while everyone thought Lucas replaced him as soon as he was revealed, but almost no one would believe me.

Yeah, I didn't want Wind Waker Link in, but now that I see him closely, I think it will be interesting to play as him, he's not Young Link after all. Sakurai must be aware of us knowing the spoilers for the characters like Lucario, WWLink, R.O.B., and Wolf, so why would he mention "secret" characters in today's update? I truly believe there will be more, plus, Mewtwo can't be gone just like that even if Lucario has similar moves than him, but remember what you all said about Ness?? aaaah (yeah, I don't tire of mentioning that). And, Frogger, why do you prefer the Melee roster if the Brawl roster as of now has almost all of the Melee character? it even has Marth.
Oh, and I already told you sorry for killing you...God, will you never forgive me!? =(

Anyway, forgetting about that, I really thought there were more deserving characters than ROB, even if they were clones. I was never particularly fond of Young Link, but he does fit in more than Wind Waker Link, which is aesthetically slaugtering to the game. I need more information about him, but I have no idea why anyone would prefer him to any of the other characters, he's just a watered down Link.

I was with you no the Ness thing, but I do hate him as well.

I just want my clones. There's no harm in clones!

Anyway, forgetting about that, I really thought there were more deserving characters than ROB, even if they were clones. I was never particularly fond of Young Link, but he does fit in more than Wind Waker Link, which is aesthetically slaugtering to the game. Well the final roster does;t really impress me that much, seeing as how alot of the returning vets will most likely get nothing more than a graphics upgrade (see zelda for example).

The only think that interests me abut any of them is the potential for final smashes, which i hope he'll at least make original since their moves will be unchanged.

But knowing sakurai their FSA's will also be clones with some graphics changes, but the same effects in general.

At least we're not going to see any more filler. But with so many spoilers around we already know most of everything at this point so I guess it's all filler from here on.(gee thank you internets!....j/k :lol

Oh, that's right, Frogger, you were with me on the Ness thing...I also hate him but I sure didn't want him out, nor did I believe he would be out. We got Wolf who seems to be a clone of Fox; his Final Smash is the same. I haven't seen Falco in action but I hope he has different moves now.
I don't think I will use items that much, only at the beginning, and I think unchanged characters attack-wise is a good thing rather than having new moves and having to get accostumed to them all over again, except of course for clones.

I'm very happy with the roster. It has some quirks I'm not thrilled with, obviously, and it didn't fullfill my wildest fantasies, perhaps. But this is still a freaking amazing game, with a great roster.

because a good potion are clones. Which in a sense are just cosmetic changes to existing characters. The majority of them I find unnecessary.

The game was shaping up to be great with new IP's added and some removed allowing for a new experience. But no they go back and decide to add all those clones that were relatively worthless back in just for the hell of it.

We have Lucas we don't need Ness. seeing as how Lucas has Ness' move set with the addition of PK freeze.

We have Fox so there is no need for Falco or Wolf, one of which will be a clone with a slower firing blaster but it will have the flinch effect fox's had back in te day. The other will most likely get a new move set.

Then we have the good ole' glass cannon jigglypuff. only one move in her set was good. It was WAY overpowered. But I'm pretty sure he will stay the same, her FSA will likely be a stage wide sleep effect like peach.

So yeah the final roster is just one big "meh" for me. It just seems like they went in a direction I didn't really care for.

Actually Jigg's FSA involves her suddenly growing to giant proportions nocking everyone else off the stage ...>.>...<.<....

Sorta... She doesn't stomp around or anything, I think she just explodes to humongous size. It'd be like sitting at a desk when suddenly the desk grew 200X it's size. You'd go flying.

At least this is the impression I'm getting from screenshots. I haven't actually seen it in action yet in a video.

ness and lucas have completly different a moves, and a different b-move, as a person who was relatively good with ness, i'd be pissed if they replaced him with someone with different a moves

why isn't there a need for wolf? he has a completly original moveset(cept his gun and fsa) falco is a lot different than fox in melee, and he's even more different in brawl (dual pistols, throws his reflector)

ganondorf has a sword as one of his moves, and his b-up move is like captain falcon's except it is an upercut, and it can hit targets(while falcon's couldn't)

toon link is INCREDIBLY fast compared to link, and his b-moves are different as well, his boomerang is bigger, but it dosn't have the wind effect

there are no clones in brawl, only semi clones (like luigi)

as for jigglypuff's fsa, i think it's that she does her b-down move, but she's big.....so she grows big(not very fast) but if you touch her you go flying

i think, i'm not completly sure, i've seen it(like all fsa's) but i forget

I disagree there. To me it seems like the game is once again full of clones. The subtle differences don't matter if the majority o the substance that makes up the characters moves is rehashed.


I've seen videos of falco and as far as I can see, he is exactly like fox in every aspect including FSA. Although they may give his blaster the slow fire flinch effect.

Lucario's FSA was kinda neat. He's the new Mewtwo just as I suspected. He has an FSA similar to Deoxys (sp) the tentacle thing with hyper beam.

alright you said you would be happy if sakurai just used the characters that was revealed on the dojo, how is adding characters(clones or not) a bad thing?
