Lucas looks pretty cool as a character, but this made me sad:

There’s a character named Ness who has appeared in the Smash Bros. series up until now, and Lucas is very similar.

Is that a hint that Ness is getting the boot?

No more Ness tonight's update officially confirms that Lucas has replaced Ness

Well Today we get a look at Lucas's special moves and his smash attacks. All of them. Yeah, he's kinda similar to ness, he's still got that silly recovery move, hopefully they've managed to make it more useful somehow. It does look more damaging, and now the flying Lucas is a projectile himself after launching himself with it. His smash attacks look mean, and he has a Sideways meteor smash which has some MAJOR killing potential if it works how it sounds. PK Fire also sounds beefed up, and with any luck his regular B, changed up from Ness the most of all the moves besides maybe the smash attacks, which now freezes opponents, will be faster to control, or maybe more useful.

I wouldn't really know, he's never been a real fav. of mine as a character. oops I mean Ness. He does seem a lot like Ness, and if what Sakurai says here "up until now" means that Ness is gone, well then looks like it's just ol' Lucas.

I'm not sure why, but I was expecting them to be more creative with Lucas's moveset and still keep Ness. =\ I guess I was wrong. It's unfortunate.

A wise man once told me, PK Thunder works well if you master it. So I mastered it. I don't know what you guys are talking about, it can be as reliable as Pikachu's recovery move (he's my main).

I am sad. I just got into using Ness. He was one of my mains on the original, and I was just getting good on Melee with him.

Maybe Ness will be introduced with a different moveset. Very unlikely, but I don't want to see him go.

Lucas isn't the EXACT same. But, no, he won't be in Brawl.

They would never alter an original's moveset for the sake of giving it to a new character, then creating Ness another one. Unless they REALLY wanted to give Ness some super cool new moveset they created. Too bad he won't be in Brawl. -.-

i don't think that implies that ness is out

i think lucas is just a clone of ness.....

Something tells me that even though that Lucas is in Brawl.....Ness as been through out the whole series....so their going to have put in Ness..

Just make Ness moves a little more different...make his Pika Thunder stronger and longer as the first in SSB!
