Sharing a wireless connection across the street...

I'm going to set up a wireless network in my house and let my neighbor across the street use it too. What wireless router works with Wii but has really good range?
Also, most of the routers I'm finding to be most popular are also listed by Nintendo as not compatible with Wii. I'm so confused!
Nintendo also says not to get a router with MIMO or any N. Then I see most G uses MIMO.
Any suggestions? This contradiction thing has me totally befuddled
