What does the EU have to do with state's rights/sovereignity of the US?

EU is an example of a supranational organization, meaning it rules over more than one state.
States, in the proper definition, are the same as countries. That is what I was referring to by states' rights.

My point is the question now is whether the EU, UN, and other groups like that should have more authority than sovereign states such as the US, UK, etc.

Also, no, the US is not going to dissolve because the "states" have a common purpose in international politics, and there is no benefit in crumbling. Yes, the EU is there to stay and it can only get more solidified.
And yes, this is a ridiculously random thread.

So lemme get this straight. Some southern Manchild makes useless thread about sex, I put wikipedia copypasted info there, everyone has a pointless argument against said manchild, and suddenly you're talking about American Sovereignty... in a thread titled Sex. Ok then. Ok.

Being under a rock in Canada for the last seven years has left me out of the loop...
I suggest... Renaming this thread or deleting it entirely.
Kid posts thread about sex --> people mock kid and his Confederate flag avatar --> discussion about sovereignty/Tenth Amendment/EU. What's not to get?

To be honest, in my time at Wiichat this has probably been one of the saner thread progressions.

I think you're misunderstanding a bit. Unfortunately this is one of those confusing terminology things- The US is a federal 'state' comprised of 50 'states'. In the case of the US it's the 'federal state' which is the actual country. The 'states' are equivalent to 'provinces' or 'regions'.

As for the EU and UN, neither of them have more authority than the US (although it is my understanding that EU law does supercede UK law in case of conflict). The EU has no authority over the US since it is not a member, and the UN, all the rights and rules are all voluntary (how else could countries like Zimbabwe and North Korea remain members?) apart from the Security Council- and the US has itself a permanent seat on it with the power of veto.
