That would have left a massive backdoor for homebrew so there is no chance of that happening.
Update times have much to do with Nintendo server loads. The first updates when I first got the console took about 10 minutes each on my Wii. The 2.1 update I got yesturday took about 30 seconds, I think some people could be worrying about nothing here.
Thank you thank you thank you! :thumbsup: I would've never thought about trying something so simple. It has fixed my issues. I was able to download the browser (quickly) and i'm able to join the wii shop channel much faster (2-3mins) instead of the 3-5 and possible failer.
