Haha this thread made me laugh.
Easy mistake though.
My friend thought his Wii was broken when that happened.

It's still weird that it's receiving messages when it's powered completely off. Red power light means it's completely shut down, anything more and it would be unplugged.

It should only receive messages and notifications when it's on standby connection or fully powered on.
