Realms 2: Rebirth of Evil (Official RP)

Fringe stared at the two as they spoke, and then gestured to the body she recognized, he was still alive. She then said, "Look, either way...We should probably get out of here. Old Man...If it's any incentive to you, I know this one. There's a chance he could give us some information."
Before waiting for them to respond, she began to walk, continuing to drag a body behind her. Trying to make it look like an easy task...If they weren't wearing this ludicrous armor...
She asked, "So...Are we working together? At least until we get out of here?"
Night nodded.
"It seems that way, at least. Listen, Once we get into the woods, we can drop these men off where it's safe, and then I can take you to my cave. There's a little food there, and at least some shelter."

As Yamata continued to followed he stepped on a piece of wood and snapped it. He cringed and ducked behind a pile of debrie hoping they didn't hear anything.

Caedus smiled. That was more like the Oric he knew. take action, swift and confident.

"I will return to the Citadel and let them know of our intentions. When I am able, I will join you at Peace City."

Caedus quickly left the room, took a horse from his carriage outside, and rode off into the distance. Thoughts crossed his mind... And one in particular made his face scrunch with worry. Instead of going to the Citadel, he took a sharp turn westward, towards the Calpinnean Mountain Range.

I must see where they are hiding... If they have a base in the Mountain as well, Oric could be walking into a trap.

"WAIT!"
Night stiffened. He was sure he had heard something snap like someone had stepped on it.

"I think we're not alone..."

Vibro was medatating to pass the time when a soilder walked up to him.
"What is it you need?"
"General Vibro sir, General Nogeth has requested an audiance with you."
"Very well. You may return to your post now." He got up & was walked trough the door.
I guess were finally gonna discuss what are next target is.
Vibro stoped before a door & knocked.

Nero looked at the door and opened the door, showing Vibro on the other side.

"Greetings Vibro. Come in." He gestured inside. "Now we wait for one more."

-MEANWHILE-

"WAIT!"
Night stiffened. He was sure he had heard something snap like someone had stepped on it.

"I think we're not alone..."

Yamata laid flat then using all his speed he ran to another part of the building breaking things as he went. He ran from one place to another trying to throw them off from where he was.

At this point it was clear to all three that someone had been following them. Fringe offered up her suggestion, "This...gives all the more reason to get out of here. And fast. We may need to find somewhere else to stay after we drop these guys off," she gestured to the soldier lying in Giles' makeshift stretcher.
"He probably heard that we'd be staying camping out...Or maybe he's trying to lure us into a trap...But..." She bit her lip..."What do you guys think...? Should we go after him...?"

Yamata stayed where he was barely hearing what they where saying. He silently put on his Panther Claws and got ready to attack if they got too close to where he was. He peered around the wall for a split second to see where they where and turned back around. He saw that they were at a good distence, but not close enough to come out of hiding.

Vent looked up to see Vibro enter after Nero let him in. "Good, now we wait for one more." Vent turned back to his map. a multitude of black lines sprawling all over it.

As he peered through the brush, Venator spotted two figures moving slowly into a clearing. They were surviors from the Destiny Post attack, and Venator had been tracking them through the thick forest. The pair looked exhusted. They were a man and a women, both in their mid thirtys. The man, shirtless and covered with soot, stood leaning up against a tree, breathing heavly. The women presumably his wife sat back against the trunk, holding her left leg. It was rapped in a blood stained tunic and splinted just above her knee.

For Venator this was the perfect time to strike. He drew his bow and readied an arrow, aiming it at the most dangerous enemy. Although he was unarmed, the man had the greatest chance of escaping and Venator had to immobilize him quickly. Silently he drew back the string and fired. The arrow whistled as it sliced through the air. Upon impact a loud crunch could be heared as the projectile passed through the man's throat and out the otherside, burring itself into the hardwood. The women gasped in horror as her husband dropped to the ground instantly dead.

Her eyes searched the dark forest floor for the source of the attack, but she saw nothing. She had began to crawl away searching despritly for cover as the second arrow struck her in the hip. She fell to her back gasping for air, the arrow had hit one of her lungs. This is when Venator emerged from his cover, and drew his machete. As he pressed the blade to her throat, she uttered one word barely audiable over her weezing. "Wh...y?"

In response Venator muttered, "To destroy you is no loss, to keep you is no gain." As the last syllable left his mouth he swipped the blade horizontally, finishing off his kill. Venator cleaned his blade and scampered off into the woods, feeling no shame or remorse.

Venator reached the rock just before nightfall, pushed his blade into the stone and ran down into the tunnel, increasing his pace with each stride. He paused before entering Vent's chamber, knocked and stepped in. His fellow generals were already there. Venator sat down without saying a word and began work on three replacement arrows.

(its Nogeth not Noth)

"Good. You're all here. Now to inform you of our final target, Valentine City. Salfir has desecrated it and will be cleansed from it like our other targets. However for this one the rules are different. We know the enemy has a small but capable fighting force and we will not be aiming to destroy but to retake it with little damage to the city itself. The great one has layed out a two part plan that requires all of us. First, Venator and Yamata; you both will lead a frontal assault with a few of our elite warriors. Kill as many as you can. While you distract them with the cleansing, Vibro and myself will make our way through the recently completed tunnel and come out directly under our former leader's home, Valentine Manor. Valentine kept a private store of weapons and armor incase he ever lost control of the populas or if the other countries managed to put him on the defensive. Neither could, or did, happen thus the weapons remain unused. Vibro and I will be taking the rest of our troops, entering the storage and then striking the enemy from behind." Vent stood up and looked at the other three. "This plan has no flaws. Thanks to the false map Vibro leaked to the high ranking diplomat, the enemy believes our tunnel system stops a mile short of Valentine City. They are also under the assumption that we will have no knowledge of the fact that we know they will be bringing reinforcements soon. We will therefore have the greatest advantage when we take them by surprise with an assault on two fronts, one from the expected course and the other from within the city they believe themselves the owner of. Retaking our capital will shatter what remaining hope the other countries have. That is when we move to phase two of the master plan. Any questions?" Vent knew his plan was flawless. When he had informed the great one of it weeks ago he was given gratitude and advice on how to perfect it. Vent has had weeks to prepare every detail of this plan and now he was ready to implement it.

Night shook his head.
"No more unnecessary fighting. But I don't want to be followed, so..."

Night outstreched his left arm, revealing a glimpse of his mark. His hand began to shimmer, as if surrounded by smoke.
"On my signal, run. DARKNESS GRENADE!"
A fist-sized ball of darkness shot from Night's hand and exploded on the ground, surrounding them in impenetrable darkness.
"GO! Whoever's there, they'll be able to see us soon!"
Night grabbed one of the unconcious soldiers and dashed towards the woods.

After ten minutes of running through the woods, Fringe stopped and said, "We need a plan. We can't just keep running. They're going to find us." She turned to Night and asked, "Is there any supplies in your cave that would be useful? A compass, or map would be most helpful...Unless either of you happens to know these woods...In which case we could leave the supplies to throw them off, and go in the opposite direction..." She smiled to herself, she still remembered some of her survival training from a few years ago, then frowned when she remembered they still had the soldiers with them, and added, "And...What are we going to do with these guys? We don't exactly have time for first aid, or an interrogation."

Caedus rode on horseback for miles and miles, finally coming to a clearing from the forest and he beheld the Calpinnean Mountain Range. He rode on to Mount Calpine in haste. When he arrived at the base of the mountain, he dismounted his horse. As he studied the ground and brushed away some of the foliage, he could see tracks, and remnants of a campsite. They were there... Or at least, they were once. The tracks Caedus found were far outdated, and the campsites he discovered were once used but not for a long time.

Worry crept into Caedus's mind. Maybe they had already been here... Maybe they had already used the forging prowess of the mountain... Maybe...

Maybe they actually have enough power to form actual armies...

Caedus mounted his horse, and without a second thought, without even considering an alternative, he raced for what was once known as Valentine City.

Meanwhile...

His footprints echoed through the stone chambers. Torches that lit the wall had recently burnt out, and he was there, giving them back their life and relighting them. Drops of water gathered on the ceiling of the damp caverns dropped to the stone floor and the splashes echoed throughtout the infinite labyrinth of tunnels that lay beneath Negliv. He came to a partition in the stone wall, and pressed a certain stone. The wall rotated, and Forenz found himself exactly where he expected: Oric Halgern's study.

Forenz walked up to Oric and glanced at what he was doing. He saw two maps there. One he recognized as Oric's, the other he had never seen before. But his senses caught who it was before Oric even had a chance to greet him.

"Its that damn kid again, is'nt it?" He growled at Oric in his raspy voice. "I don't trust him. He is too wild, too unpredictable, and FAR to young to not let all the merit and recognition people give him for his talents go to his head!"

It was not that Forenz intended to yell, it was just his way of communicating.

Oric turned around towards Forenz, smiling at his old friend. "Yes, he was hear lobbying to go after the shadows. He was able to find new evidence in form of an old Destry map, that my lead us to their campsite."

Oric rolled up both maps, placed them into his bag and began to walk out of the study, motioning to Forenz to follow. The two men made their way through the castle halls causually chatting, until they reached Oric's quarters. Two guards stood at the double doors pikes in hand. The men each pulled open a door, revealing a large carpeted room full of plush furniture and ornate wall hangings. The King took a seat on an over stuffed chair and began to inform Forenz on the days events.

"I know you do not like him, but the boy has the most incredable drive I have ever seen. When he sets his mind on something he gets it done. His ego can be blinding at times, but Caedus' head is in the right place. We just have to keep him on a short leash. Now getting back to the Shadows, with this new information I am certain they will strike Valentine City within the week, and we must be in position to turn back any attempt to take the city.

I will leave tonight with a Battalion of Cavalry. We should get to Salfir by morning, and we will begin to strengthen Peace City's defenses. I want you to leave Negliv tomorrow at first light with a Divison of infantry. With a days hard marching you should be able to make it by nightfall. We will be waiting."

Oric jumped up from his chair and proceded to exit his quarters at a light jog. He ran down into his private armory sweating lightly as he stepped past an armored guard into a brightly lit room. In the center of the room was a dummy covered in Oric's armor. On all sides of the room were shelves stock piled with weapons. Halgern's armor was crimson red and gold, with silver chain mail underneth. A pair of gold eagles reaching for each others throats was engraved into his chest plate.

Oric stepped out of the room and mounted his horse, a black mare named Arrea. Oric was armed to the teeth, a large knife was sheathed on his right ankle and a katana graced his left hip. On his back was a spear, bow, and a large circular shield with a semicircle cut into one of the edges. Inside the shield was a short sword and on his right hip was Oric's most prized possesion. A black handled sword named Aquila. Its blade was a bright crimson red with the words Bellum Planto Pacis engraved into it.

Oric rode to the city gates, to find a whole Battalion of men on horse back waiting. He made his way to the front of the column and lead the march forward into the darkness. Drosin was once again at war.

Richand and Siana rode on as Negliv loomed into view.
"Look! Over there!"
Siana pointed at the battalion of soldiers marching out of the city's main gate. Leading them was unmistakeably Oric, his crimson and gold armor shining brightly. Richand and Siana raced towards him.
"ORIC!"
-MEANWHILE-
Night stopped.
"We leave them here. They'll probably wake up soon, and I'm sure they'll make their way back to camp. We're only a few minutes from the edge of the forest."
Night dumped the soldier on a soft patch of grass.
"Let's keep moving. It's only a little longer before we reach my home."
