I have some questions about the WII. I'm looking to buy one as soon as I can find one. Anyways, do you have to keep the machine hooked up online all the time? Of course you need to be hooked up if you are downloading games and stuff, but at other times do you still need to be online?

Also, how much is it to buy the downlaodable games? Looked at the nintendo site and it says 500 wii points. What is that in US money?

You don't always need to be connected, you can disable the connect24 and only be connected when the system is powered on.

100 wii points = $1

I'm not always connected, I just connect when I feel like it. When you connect, you can just update your wii , but I'm not sure if that'll include mail.
