Avalugg is one of the weirdest things. It's kind of intimidating. And not just in design, looking at the numbers make me suspect it has around 95/230/50 defenses. Yes, I just said 230 physical defense. Sometime soon here I'll start an actual stat comparison to get a better estimate.

Edit: I guess my head calculations were a bit off, it seems to have around 190 base defense. Still, that's huge. Especially since I was about right with the HP. I was also right with my Sp. Defense estimation, the calculations show me it's around 45, which is bad, but still, dat physical bulk. It has a high attack too.

Free pass for ya then, as I certainly had to give it a try myself. Gave ol' Charizard one of every minigame's worth'a EVs back when I first received it from tree professor #6.

Despite it bein' horrendously less efficient than EV item + Pokerus, maybe only 1/3rd as efficient, can't say I'm all-that disappointed in Super Trainin'. It's a gateway to proper EV training and competitive battling for newbies, as I figured it'd be. It'l certainly shut up all'a the hate on EV training... and maybe even lessen the cold disposition many ignorant casuals hold towards us competitive battlers.

But I was really hopin' Core Training didn't use one-time-use items that can't be bought... ;_;
