Nintendo.. Are they making a new version of the Wii already?!-1.052009-11-08 08:23:06BoZ94There has been rumors about Nintendo making a newer version of the Wii. Although the ‘official’ name hasn’t been released yet, they are calling this the Wii 2. Apparently, this rumor came from an employee of ‘Nintendo of France.’ So what does this newer version of the Wii have compared to the original? Let’s take a look at some of these.

1. A blu-ray disc drive, which is a bit odd, because it seems ‘out-of-character’ for Nintendo to be using Sony’s technology.
2. Aiming to better their Wii’s security. On the original Wii, hackers could easily download games for free, play imported games, or anything else that involved hacking.

Nintendo is wanting to step up their Wii’s security, so that this would put an end to hackers. That’s all we’ve heard from the employee at Nintendo of France. One of the main questions being asked is how will Sony hand over their Blu-Ray technology over to Nintendo? (Their competitor.) It would be risky, knowing that the Blu-Ray is one of the Playstation 3’s biggest selling-points. Nintendo wants to also sell the Wii 2 around 2010. The date? Nobody yet knows, but they want to sell it exactly on the same day around the world. A bit odd if you ask me. There are no official pictures yet, or videos for that matter. For now, we can only wait.
