Continuing in its bid to LEGO-ize everything that ever existed in the known universe, Warner Bros. Interactive has today announced that LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will be released for the Nintendo Wii in May 2010, as well as unveiling some brand new screenshots (it’s a multi-format release so these may not be representative of what the Wii version will look like). Developed by TT Games, the team behind the LEGO Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Rock Band and Batman games, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is based on the first four Harry Potter books and films that cover Harry’s first four years at Hogwarts.
Players will get the chance to play as LEGO versions of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger, as well as other favourites, as they attend lessons, cast spells, mix potions, fly on broomsticks and complete tasks to earn house points. You’ll also have plenty of chance to explore familiar locations from the Potter-verse, including Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest and the village of Hogsmeade. This is what Tom Stone, managing director, TT Games had to say about the game:
“With LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 we are creating an open, wide-ranging experience within Hogwarts that is full of fun and LEGO magic. Harry Potter is one of the most beloved and well-respected characters, and we look forward to bringing gamers a new way of interacting in the universe with the LEGO games’ great humour and exploration.”
