Hows is the string breaking "buggy"? The software has some bugs like freeze-ups and more framerate drops in Gamecube games the if you were to just play them on Gamecube. And you would have to be a real idiot to let go of the controller. That is a weird consideration to have when purchasing a Wii. So what are the odds? It depends, are you an idiot?
Look at the picture on the link on hellview's post. Try telling me that hasn't been cut... If you dont believe me get an old shoe lace and cut it in half with scissors - same effect - nice clean split - no fraying at all... Not sure if I believe all this. Also the string and the bit holding the string broke? Thats not possible the kinetic force would break one or the other. Think about it.
