[Almighty Wii-wii of DOOM]

How can I get on the shop, forecast, or news channel on my wii if the lan adapter isn't even out yet? i've heard of a lot of people who have their settings in and i thought that it requires a lan adapter. is the lan adapter out yet? if it is, where can i get it? and if ist isn't out, how are all these people getting on the forecast, weather and shop channel?
