i have bought a wii fi connector and i have installed it on my computer and my wii is right next my computer and it is saying on my wii unable to connect to internet error code 51340

Well you do need to download the software to use it, I'm pretty sure. Did you do that? Even if you did, just try downloading the latest version here.

Err...
I just read what it said when you enter that code in that link Byu posted, and it said you should install the latest version of some driver.
Ah, well. I'll read it again.

**Edit:

Yep, read it again and you need to have software for the Wireless dongle to work.

It also says that if you have any security programs such as a firewall, anti-virus software, etc., there might be aditional steps you'll need to take. That's where I get too lazy to read it all. I doubt it's about your security programs, but if you get desperate, try that out.
