Escorting The Sick Kid And Lady In The Wagon

I am "escorting" this lady, and kid that are riding in a wagon via a "map" that is provided and the route is in RED. anyways, I keep trying to protect them from the "bad guys" that shoot flaming arrows at the wagon (Which will start on fire, and eventually kill them both) unless i use my boomerrang to put out the flames.

HERE IS WHERE I NEED HELP...the damn birds keep dropping "bombs" in the road that deviates the wagons course and takes them off track (its at the same spot everytime) i have tried to kill the birds with my arrows, and even throw my boomerrang at it, and even tried throwing it at the bombs, but yet nothing happens?

HOW DO I KEEP THE WAGON ON COURSE, AND HOW DO I KILL THE BIRDS FROM MESSING WITH THE WAGON??????????Please help if you can, and i thank you for your help.

Try locking onto the birds with the bow and arrow, that will make it easier to shoot them down. Do not use the Gale Boomerang. If you kill all the birds, then you won't be strayed off course.

THanks for all your help, i will give it another shot later tonight! At least i know that i was not doing anything "wrong" just not doing it correctly!
