Electronic Arts today announced that EA Sports will be bringing two of its hugely popular sports games to the Wii U. FIFA 13 and Madden NFL 13 will both feature award-winning gameplay, HD graphics and new and innovative gameplay styles.
“We challenged our teams to develop innovations designed specifically for the Wii U, and to create new ways to play that would bring players of all abilities together,” said Andrew Wilson, Head of EA SPORTS. “Our teams have truly delivered creative new football experiences with FIFA 13 and Madden NFL 13 for the Wii U.”
FIFA 13 is currently in development at EA Canada, and features three new ways to play that bring players of all abilities together, via Co-op Mode, Team Management Control, and Manage Match. The Wii U version of the game uses the unique characteristics of the Wii U GamePad to help immerse players in the on-pitch action, with gamers being able to lift and look through the GamePad touch screen to aim the ball on set pieces and penalty kicks, prior to letting the shot fly. You can also shake the GamePad to activate Touch Screen Shooting, which allows for pinpoint accuracy of shot.
Madden NFL 13 on Wii U is said to be the most authentic NFL experience ever on a Nintendo console, featuring core gameplay firsts for the franchise, with HD graphics, the newest depth and career modes, and special touch-screen features that are exclusive to the Wii U, such as streamlined playcalling, pre-snap adjustments and personal management. However, don’t get too excited about all this if you live outside of North America, as EA says that Madden NFL 13 will only be available on Wii U in North America, which is bound to disappoint all those millions of fans around the world who love to play the game.
Both games will be available as soon as the Wii U is launched.
