It will must likely to be wireless using bluetooth or wi fi or something.

thats only if you dont have wireless internet!
i conected my ds to the wireless internet in the same way i connected my wii.

the question was about DS to Wii connections...

the DS doesnt use bluetooth IIRC, it uses a wifi standard, as does the wii.

so connecting them together would be on an ad-hoc wifi basis...

the USB adapter is only to connect your wii or DS to your pc/laptop to use your existing internet connection
