Do the News or Forecast channels work?

so I got my Wii, really exciting, but I want to know how to access those channles or add any? I was able to update it when I turned it on, but what about those channels? are they disabled now since the Wii still just came out?

They don't work for a while I think news is sometime in December and Forcast is sometime in January

Id Guess thats probably the reason , Not many people have the Wii since it was limited
