chipped wii

i i want to chip my wii so it can be region free, but first i want to know weather if i live in australia and i want to play an american game can i still play online???? and if i want to chip it do i have to send it off?? if so can you give me any links to where it can be chipped.

Be careful about discussing "mods" because they themselves aren't illegal (region free)
but 98% of people who get them chipped use them for pirating software which is very illegal and hurts the gaming industry which in turn raises game prices and in the long runs hurts the gamer because the company can't make new games...

btw I'd learn how to do it yourself unless you know someone you TRUST 100% even then your Wii could get "bricked" (rendered useless by nintendo online)
and it won't perform properly sometimes cause the hardware is being modified to run differently than it was originally programed. Some games like Trauma Center are made not to work with modded Wiis...

i got my moded for 100$ it came with a garentee he broke he or if it broke in the next YEAR he would get me a new one and mod that one of i wanted free
