Description here.

This is the phone I am (hopefully) getting very soon. It is not currently available in Canada, and is rarely available in America. Thus I am forced to use eBay.

The three main reasons this phone interests me are as follows.
  • It is Linux based
  • It is touch screen
  • It's appearance (Flip phone, top screen transparent, etc..)

So I am currently searching the world of eBay, looking for a good deal.

I would be very pleased to hear any comments you guys have about this phone.
I have read dozens of reviews, and the inconsistency in reviews just shows me that you can never read enough reviews when looking to buy something.
If you have the phone, or have had any experience with it, I would really love it if you could please share a detailed review of your thoughts on it.

Also, any general discussion about this phone can go here.

The phone is so ugly... but it has Linux... that is a permanent guarantee....

Also, it would sync perfectly with my PC (as I been running Linux Ubuntu since 2 years, no Windows in this home)

Yup, that's one of the main reasons i'm getting it.
I have Ubuntu as well.
Linux > anything

Wow!!!

Finally a smart user!!!!

I will get the phone as well... I always wanted a Linux based phone!

I couldn't go back to Windows... ever!

Lol good luck..
I've been having a lot of trouble finding a good deal on eBay.
However I finally found one and am currently bidding on one which is just an awesome deal..

I won't ask you about the deal... the phone should be yours first (as I wouldn't never imagine about it)

Just curious

How about the average price? $600? At least, you only pay for the phone :)

Retail price for the phone ranges between approximately $375 and $450.
On eBay you can probably find one for $250.
$300+ if it comes with extra accessories.

Looks like a good phone. No IPhone though. SuSE > Ubuntu. Ubuntu = The new Mandrake.
Actually I don't really like the iPhone. I am going with this instead because I wanted a flip phone. And this is the ONLY flip phone that runs on Linux AND is touch screen. And the iPhone doesn't run on Linux either.
Neo1973 > iPhone any day.

Which is why I agreed it is a good phone, but the ladies aren't impressed by linux.

hmmm tell me if you like it once you get it, cause i am currently looking at cellphones right now(as mine is broken)

it looks pretty decent

but if i can't get it than i'll just find a different phone

it dosn't really matter, as long as it plays music, videos, camera and obviously have the capability of having telephonic conversations

....and connect to my computer(so i can just drag songs from my computer onto my phone)

I'm sure it will work on Windows / MAC computers as well, but it will work better with a Linux system :) As both phone and computer share the same files tree and structure (also the phone should have the same partitions than Linux)

Seems Interesting...

But I'll Stick With My Nokia 6126 For A While...

You Press A Button On he Side And It OPENS UP!!! OMGROTFLBBQLOLM8!

XD... Fun To Press, Open, Close, Then Repeat... XD
